@@cynthialeech2507 As already said, letting the surfaces dry out. I also recommend placing an air dehumidifier (one with liquifying pellets) on the bottom to be safe.

They hv shower n toilet like that in Japan and it's a good idea to incorporate it in a van.

As a male, I traveled 6 months in my van and only dug a cathole once, so I view toilets only for chosen convenience for a man, woman or couple, with the tradeoff of dealing with emptying it regularly unless one of the expensive ones is used that bag and seal each use for disposal. Traveling alone, I'd go with a seat that raises to reveal, or swaps out to a toilet seat shape and you just insert a double layer bag, like a kitchen size. Urine in a bottle, solids in the bag, simply roll up and store it in an airtight box like a plastic ammo box from harbor freight (oddly and appropriately then named) and dispose in the next trash stop. But the average person might be amazed how you can schedule your bathroom time and avoid the need for a bathroom suddenly within 20 feet because you waited for the call of nature to kick in instead of being proactive. Somehow people can manage putting food in on a schedule every day when working during their lunch hour, but can't manage to schedule it coming out. But the ultimate design for a shower is what I'm building. A 6 inch tall shower pan that pivots out from under seating (or cabinets, per design) rotating on the steel drain pipe, and hanging a shower curtain from concealed mounts recessed in the ceiling. Then the shower head pulls out from an overhead cabinet where plumbing in the wall brings up the pressurized water. Minimal cost, build, weight, and space used.

That method is also referred to as a "boat shower", cuz when you are on a boat, there is limited space in the black water tank and it is a pain to have to keep leaving the dock to go to the dump station and then redock your boat.

That is what I was thinking, and questioning. It would be hard to keep it from mold and smelling.

Squeegee, vent fan, keep it open for some time post shower and it'll be fine.

A tankless heater has no storage tank, it is an instantaneous heater, the 2 and 1/2 gallon will (probably) be a flow per minute

​@@alanswinton549 the point is you can't have a tankless water heater, and have a tank capacity. So she either has a 2.5gpm tankless water heater. Or a 2.5 gallon water heater.

@@173242 A normal system has storage tanks of cold water to provide head, and a hot water tank to store hot water, a tankless water heater has a tank or cylinder depending on what you want to call it, in which the water is heated to the required temperature whilst flowing which is used immediately hence it is referred to as tankless, normally stated as flow per minute, but the heater tank does have a volume.

She just misspoke, tons of builds include a stock off the shelf 2.5 gallon water heater and if you're clever, you swap out the heating element to not require 1500 watts at 110v to heat, but rather small heating elements, such as those readily available 12v ones for coffee pots and then you get to just bypass the whole inverter wasting energy converting to 110v.

Build a shower with a seat in. I have to use a seat due to disabilities but could also work for tall people too. Just an idea
