+blch It's because the wolf was young, weak, and stupid. It was a very small wolf, and you could tell from where all it was biting it wasn't getting a good hold, except on the bison's lip.

@@wnrr2696 That it is trying to hunt by itself like that means it's probably already without a pack and is extremely reluctant to give up even when the mother shows up because it's that desperate. If it doesn't find a new pack that is willing to accept it that wolf will probably either die of starvation or get badly injured in risky solo hunts.
