Created by the National Geographic Society's Impact Story Lab in collaboration with Batswana filmmakers, Nkashi: Race for the Okavango shows the triumphs and challenges of three mokoro (dugout canoe) polers, celebrates cultural heritage, and illuminates the importance of protecting the Okavango Delta.
Disclaimer Language:
Nkashi: Race for the Okavango and the annual Nkashi Classic race are made possible by Okavango Eternal, a five-year partnership between National Geographic and De Beers to help protect the source waters of the Okavango Delta and the lives and livelihoods they support.

From the soundtrack, to the cinematography and profound story-telling, this was exceptionally done.

The sound-track is annoying really; it's intrusive. It should have been ambient.

Top tier content, captivating documentary showing a side of Botswana I only hear about. Really sucked when GB lost his father but loved the community response to the situation and support that was given.

@@Steven410ification Its an American film company mainly entertaining the American audience, and we're disagreeing on a American social media company. But I was only initially watching because I love other areas of the world and different cultures. But this is a low film production and it's not any dis to your heritage.

You lost me with fish gulping for air on the bottom of the boat early in this video. Humane treatment of the animals we eat is a must for me, it is respect for life and death.

They're doing traditional fishing. What, you expect people living traditional lives in small villages to haul around Co2 canisters? Open your eyes, heart, and mind to other peoples' ways of life and don't look at things just from a Western point of view
@jacqueline7118
@jacqueline7118 Ай бұрын
@@angelitabecerra Humane death does not require C02, it is a quick hard hit to the head. My heart, eyes and mind are open to all aspects of life and those who share it with us. :) Thanks for your opinion, always open to everyone's.

Very highly likelihood it's not the Christian god given they're living their traditional lives in a small village. And even if it is, so what? A person's individual belief system doesn't affect nor change what this documentary is highlighting. Signed, An Eclectic Wiccan
