Gorman has no one to blame but himself. He comes across as such a likeable, nice guy but being given top billing on a televised show and coming in the ring, looking like he’d spent his training camp in the pie shop is disgraceful

What makes it look even worse is the only time he's lost weight in 3 month is during the fight, he was losing that much his shorts needed taped up, something I've never seen during a boxing match so embarrassing.

@@andymcnab2.0it blows my mind. You have to assume Gorman doesn’t give a shit about his boxing career anymore, based on that. The commentary team were awfully polite about it, to the point that Gorman’s physique was the elephant in the room, both figuratively and literally.

@@nikkilouise1925 I’ve got to disagree with you there, he is massively overweight. If you check Box Rec he was 296 for this fight, 272 against Wardley and 253 against Dubois! Even Ruiz can carry too much weight like he did in the second AJ fight. I’m not a pro so I’m not disrespecting the guy. Hopefully he comes again.

@callummcintyre713
@callummcintyre713 6 ай бұрын
@@danthornton5036 "talent" may be the wrong word but, people do have natural gifts/ affinities that they can mold into talent. Most aren't going to have the hand speed of an Amir Khan, the punching power of an Ernie Shavers or, the durability of Hagler. Yes, there are exercises and training techniques you can do to improve these things, these would have done them themselves but, there's a limit. Your biomechanics simply will not allow you to improve past a certain point. As for affinities, some people will just have a natural ability to read their opponents. Suss them out, like Usyk can. Others, not so much and have to be instructed on everything.

Gorman has an opportunuiy handed to him again, and sadly his conditioning speaks volumes about how little desire he has to make an effort to get back in the rankings. He had two loses going into this fight, he knows that the heavyweight scene at the moment is chock full - if it was me I'd be going in there the best i've ever been knowing this is most likely the last opportunity to stay relivent in the division. Gorman has talent but unfortunately he has little desire or gumption to make the effort needed to progress.

Gorman is and always has been living off the fact he's related to the real Gypsy king, Bartley Gorman, who was as hard as they came. How Nathan raised his hands at the end trying to convince people he won is ridiculous! Look at the state of him, he clearly didn't train and rarely does. An absolute joke that he was given headline billing, not even good enough to be first on the billing. Nathan, retire and save your brain cells. You're not enough, it's that simple.

Does he though? He got stopped by Dubois and Wardley and he was in decent(ish) shape vs Dubois. All of his early KO wins were vs absolute no hopers. He's found his level and it appears to be journeyman. If he were to commit, train, get in shape then maybe he's British level but he's no better than that. Even his win over Lartey, Dubois and Wardley both knocked him out...

@@corleth2868I think you're right but, as much as I like Wardley, Lartey definitely took a dive in that one. The punch hit his glove. Also, there are plenty of great boxers who weren't big punchers. In fact, the majority weren't as they couldn't rely on that so knew they needed the ability to win rounds.

@@callummcintyre713 I may be over reacting due to his physical appearance in this fight but even in his best shape he never seemed to be in great shape. I thought Dubois would deal with him easily and he did but he was still looking like he'd be a decent British maybe European level fighter at that point (Dubois looked likely to be a bit better than that) and he was still only 23 I think. Since that loss he's been inactive, put on a load of weight and has now lost 2 in a row and his 3 wins since the Dubois loss were vs no hopers (Lartey looked decent against Dubois but has only won 1 fight since and that was back in Ghana vs a 44 year old and the two Czechs only beat other Czechs and one of them had beaten the other twice too). Who is Gormans best win? Kevin Johnson? And he was shot at the point where he fought Gorman. I'd like to see Gorman at 18 stone for his next fight, to look good and KO someone half decent but I'm not sure it's going to happen.

No dedication on Gormans part and it’s plain to see! From a good prospect unbeaten since losing to Dubois it’s all been downhill. Shame as he seems a likeable guy. But dropping to 8 rounders against bogdan is a backwards step

Always respected Nathan as a nice bloke, but was never impressed with any of his previous fights. This was another example of a lazy, fat, performance by him, probably one of the worst showings. Nothing but respect to him for being such a nice guy, but as a fighter, he should have stopped living off the Gorman name many years ago, because he simply doesn't have the ability or dedication to make it.
