When a player is fit they can pass the tests well and they have recovered. Say a player has pulled his calf, he will go into therapy and he will be able to eventually pass the tests. . However match fitness is when the player can actively analyse and maintain a consistent standard of football for the duration of a match. . A player can go to the gym and be "fit" whereas they won't be "match fit", it's like if you left a job for a few years, you studied it again but have lost some of the experience. . Hope I helped!!
