@@nickmaclachlan5178 Maybe a third of a second as it made him deviate a bit from the line he seems to have been going for. But kind of inconsequential for the rider, yes. I do hope though whoever rolled it onto the course, if it was on purpose, got what they deserve. (What they deserve is up to you though, I just hope they got it)

Looked like it was definitely planned, guy with a camera sets the flash off literally in his face as he comes off the bridge and then the log rolls out. Almost like they tried to blind him with the flash so he wouldn’t see the log.

Yeah and also what the cameras and this edit didn't show is two things, one being the other 2 and a half minutes of the race where cameras aren't staged and the second thing is the riders splits, his splits were well ahead up until the point the log had been rolled by a spectator onto the track so anyone who says this didn't cost him the race doesn't know how racing works. The log cost him 8 seconds over a 3 minute run but the way this video is made, makes it look like that portion of the track is close to the finish line which it isn't.

There’s only one or two guys in the elites using flats. Cleats offer so much more security, you can pound through everything and your feet are still perfectly planted, also can pull up on the rear end etc etc. Once you adjust to cleats flats become scary. It only sucks if you need to put a foot down and get full of mud so can’t get back in.

You’re right, there’s no hard evidence. Then again, there’s a guy showing a flash in his eyes at the drop-off and seconds later there’s a rolling log in his path. That’s two consecutive unlikely incidents in a matter of seconds.
@stevek8829
@stevek8829 Жыл бұрын
@@kilobitti stationing at a jump to get a shot of riders coming off it was what photographers did at motocross in the sixties. During daytime, a camera strobe isn't strong enough to your daylight adjusted eyes to be a problem. At this type of event the riders are quite used to a multitude of photographers.
