Cheggers went up hugely in my estimation when I heard a story about him at a Radio One roadshow. As he was working the crowd, some bloke said, "Why are you such a wanker?" and Cheggers immediately came back with, "I get paid for it, what's your excuse."

This show was not marketed, properly. All I remember it as being described as a dwarf and Ricky Gervais. Thought it was just nonsense and probably cruel. Had no idea that Warwick was such a sympathetic character, and that it had so much humanity. Looking at Gervais in another light, and trying to watch more of this show. Gervais needs better representation!

This is maybe 85% of what British comedy is all about: Take the piss out of our own, self deprecation, underline with the driest power point marker you have ever come across, and then throw in a nice thick layer of nuance. Perfect!

Good quote. Just a thought. I don't think actors like being referred to by character names because it implies a lack of flexibility on their part. It's a bit like how in novels when a writer is starting off, the title is written large. Later when the author is the important thing, the author's name is written large. "Barry Evans" means Shaun Williamson.
