I was in my 20s in the 80s, and, yes, I listened to OMD, New Order, Depeche Mode, etc. Now I listen to 80s music only occasionally. Mostly I'm listening to music from that last 20 years or so - Arctic Monkeys, Interpol, and now Fontaines D.C, among plenty of others. 80s music can be too iconic and too familiar. However, Nation of Language is new, fresh, and exciting! and brilliant!

Aubrey I rode my bike back and forth 5 miles to school listening to the cure Depeche and omd. You’ll make it :). We all did. And btw music is an inspirational story set upon out heart for us to discern and to understand and apply it unto ourselves. :) you’ll make it

The instrumental part at 1:50 is SUCH A BOP. So much of what I love about NOL is contained right in this fifteen seconds or so. Absolutely love it. 😎

They are original in their vibe, but for a guy who loves 80s they do sound similar to ocean blue or omd in their sound which I totally vibe on, but yes they are very much different in that aspect also. Which I love. Original Nol is also. Youthful and full of love. Great bad:)

Honestly, this song wouldn't sound out of place on The Arcade Fire's The Suburbs album. As though Arcade Fire decided to make The Suburbs II instead of Reflektor if that makes any sense.
