There are events, cruises, dozens of different classes from Zumbini for the kids to the elderly with Zumba Gold. They have Zumba clothes in all colors and sizes (well almost. The craze is there and it seems almost the same. Of course, I didn´t grow up in the 80s, and was only a kid in the 90s., but it certainly seems somewhat similar.

They never seem “out of breath.” Their “high kicks” are amazing! I used to take an aerobics class in 1984 and it gave me the worst shin splints from all that constant running in place and kicking stuff. 😫

I WAS BORN IN BRAZIL BUT i lived in the USA for 1 year from 1988 to 1989, then when I got back the fever of Aerobics in Brazil was contagious. We had amazing atheletes that competed around the world. I was always a gym rat, did gymnastics when I was younger, so when I entered aerobics class in 1989 I was a perfect fit. SUCH a wonderful time. We were free people. No fucking social media, no bullshit Covid destroying the lives and livelihood of people. THESE were the happiest times in my life. Watching this competitiontook me back in time in such a way that I started crying. This competiition was THE ONE that made me so vibrant and into drew me to this category. In Brazil It was sponsored by RAINHA (knda like our Nikes at the time). Thnak you for this. : , (

I remember the 80's as a kid, we did have color TV and VCR's but no internet or computers keeping us inside. Lots of us spent most of our time outside being active and still watched our favorite TV shows and cartoons. Everyone was in better shape back then. Now is a whole different world compared to then. Athletics was the norm for most people though not everyone. Probably much higher then than now.
