Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is likely to play on the one-year franchise tag this season. Tee Higgins played through a broken rib and a hamstring injury last season in which he had to know he was only going to receive the franchise tag in 2024. Tee will be motivated enough, injury or not, to help the Bengals win a Super Bowl this season.

These national insiders are pretty one sided against the bengals and i think its bc they dont get info from the front office. They have relationships with other teams owners and GMs and they talk about those relationships openly. So when negative news comes up they get the statement from those teams instead of just from the agent

A lot of people covering the Bengals don't seem to understand Tee is going to get paid regardless. Think about it! If he has a good year they'll say it's only because JaMar Chase got all the attention. If he has a bad year they'll say he didn't want to get injured before free agency which will definitely low the amount a team is willing to pay him. Neither scenario will stop a team from signing him. So how about we pay the man! We lost so many players makers the last two seasons can we give home some of the Reader and Bates money?

This happens across the league, year after year. It's an outlier that this year all the tagged guys but one got extended. Other teams do this and are labeled "shrewd". The Bengal do it and are labeled "Cheap". This is the collective bargaining agreement agreed to by the players. The Bengals can tag him again next year if they want to. If he has a huge year, I hope they do. Then maybe next year we'll actually get an offer. This guy is asking for #1 Money before proving he's a #1 guy. Bottom line. I can't be argued. If the league thought he was a #1 guy, some team would have made an offer the Bengals couldn't refuse. The proof the Tee Higgins is not viewed as a #1 Receiver is in the fact that he's still here. He's Alvin Harper.

The reason Shefter thinks that Higgins will sit out if he gets some minor injuries is because he thinks the Bengals are going to finish 8-9. He said that if the Bengals were having a playoff type season then yes he plays through the injuries, but he is convinced that Burrow will get hurt again and the Bengals are not even gonna make the playoffs.

No it’s not that at all. Schefter really knows nothing about the game, he just is a gossipy little bitch with a smartphone who a lot of times spreads misinformation. In this case he’s trading scoops with agents and to do that he’s doing DM’s dirty work by saying whatever DM tells him to. I guarantee you the bengals fo told that weasel to kick rocks. Schefter has been proven wrong on so many occasions becaose all he specializes in is rumors and misinformation. People are literally dumber after listening to whatever he has to say.

The way some national pundits talk about the Bengals is asinine. Joe Burrow makes 5th-6th round talent look good. Jermaine Burton is a first-round talent who could absolutely have a Puka-type year. Schefter is a joke with clown opinions.

exactly😂I remember 2 years ago, chase was out for 5 games and they put trenton irwin (who was on the practice squad) in the game and burrow was making him look decent. people need to stop with the narrative that burrow's weapons made him great when in reality, it's the other way around.

I feel bad for espn analyst I genuinely like them but they are asked to say outlandish things to get peoples attentions because it makes more money. I'm glad they didn't rake the Bengals for, potentially, making a business decision based on health. No question Tee is super talented and will get paid, but injuries factor in big money deals.

Justin Jefferson does not have a long-term contract secured. He is making less money this year than tee higgins will be. Yet I don't hear Adam schefter crying about that. There is something personal here whether it's a vendetta or he is getting outside pay to bring this point up. 21 million $ guaranteed and if he was tagged again next year that number goes up. So essentially, in two tag years, he can have more guaranteed money than if he signed a 3 year deal.

if we dont sign him long term we will be tagging him again next off szn and trading him, we wont let him walk like bates bc unlike safety, there's always teams willing to trade for a star wr but you cant really say that for the safety market at this time, hopefully we can find a way to keep him but if we dont we will trade him bc we can get more trading him even after the szn with a tag then letting him walk for a comp pick and thats just facts

The need to get a deal done that works for both sides, long term. They both know there best chance to win, is together. Imo. Hopefully something like a 27 million a year, for four years, forty million guaranteed..

I think tee didnt have a trade market for 21m tag and high draft pick because he missed time and had a down year. If he wants 25m plus he has to put up big numbers- 1000 yards- and miss very little time.

I don't see Tee being worth much more than the $21M he's getting. Seems to me, he should focus on going out and putting up Ja'Marr chase numbers, and then he's able to negotiate from a position of strength next year. We have to be honest, he was absolutely not a WR1 last year. He made some great plays, but having a hard time seeing him being worth more than he's getting, if he fails to improve.

I honestly don't believe TEE would still be a Bengal if he wasn't all in. The skill positions know that if Burrow is healthy they are going to be successful as players and as a team, which translates to.. cha-ching. That said, I think TEE is going to end up with his old pal in Jacksonville.

Look how opinionated Schefter is. Almost like he’s getting emotional about it. The dude is 💯 carrying water for DM. He was told to say exactly this in a poor effort to incite urgency. If that were to happen the only person fee would be hitting is tee. The bengals could just as easily tag him in 2025. His best and really only play is to go out in 24’ and have the sm best season he can, only good things can come of that.
