One of the greatest songs and 100% the best national anthem. Ever. I have no Welsh heritage but this gets me everytime. Tears me up. It's beautiful and a message all nations should stand for. If we ever meet aliens and play some sport against them, this should be the worlds anthem

It's not standard though. The Dutch don't respect their own national anthem or other patriottic symbolism very much either and it used to see it as a competition, who could thing the loudest and who could whistle through the other's anthem the loudest. But that's changing a bit and nice guests singing with passion are starting to get respected.

Oy, you haven't seen them in international football arenas. Maybe it's just football hooligans, but they sure don't behave well there.

@@MTMF.london Hooligans don't support the national side. It's more that the Dutch as a much smaller country rival the biggest ones, and are sympathic to other small countries. Especially those with a better singing culture. Wales, Ireland, Scotland.

I'm apparently 96 per cent Welsh, unfortunately lost my ability to sing in my ,20s..I do miss it.Frustrating. Still don't know what happened.

Things have changed completely now. The anthem at Cardiff City Stadium sung without music is way better than when it's sung at the rugby despite x2 the no. of fans

The 60s was rife with British propaganda and anti welsh sentiment which didnt help
