I’m 65 year old male, pretty good cook. I have never been able to make biscuits, just copied your recipe and made perfect biscuits. They are just like my mom and grandmother made. Thank you so much!

Yes, I learned from watching my mother, my grandmothers, even my Great grandmothers. I asked a lot, they was patient. Even gave me dough, let me make a small pan. I just love Brenda. Never knew there was a National Bisciut Day. Now I do. Thanks. Love, respect, and positivity always. Vee from Georgia.

Makes me smile because she reminds me of my childhood with my mother's same biscuit making method. I miss her so but lots of wonderful memories flooding my soul. Glad Brenda can pass her wisdom on to so many.

Wow! After all these years I have found out how my grandmother and my mother in law made biscuits. My grandmother made amazing biscuits. My favorite meal was country fried steak ( or squirrel) and gravy, French fries, slaw, and biscuits. Being a boy, I was interested in other things while she was living. I should have learned from these wonderful women. The only thing I knew was my mother in law used a ancient wooden flower bowl and I never saw her measure anything. She used her hand and in a few minutes she had biscuits. I have made biscuits that were close, but it was by accident. I tried crisco, butter, and liquid oil, at one time I tried mayonnaise. I have made good biscuits for years now,, but not world class biscuits. Today I tried Brenda's way, worked perfectly. Now if I can find the tea or method the old Morrison's, or sometimes Cracker Barrell makes tea, I can die happy. I have tried every tea recipe I could fine, used all the brands, to no avail. Yes, I can brew fantastic tea, but there is a flavor note that is always missing. A little orange extract gives a great flavor, but is not the same.

I was taught to make biscuits the same way-it’s the best way! When I was 4-5 years old I would stand in a chair beside my Mama as she made biscuits and she little-by-little started to let me help her with them until I was able to do them myself. I miss my Mama but I have good memories of things she did with me over the years.

The perfect Brenda video to share and keep to remind us just how to perfect your biscuits! I actually switched from my old flour/cream recipe to making/perfecting your tasty/flaky biscuits, yum! So thank-you, Brenda for inspiring us home cooks to try new recipes and strive to do better! My husband and neighbor thank-you too! God Bless you!!

I adore Mrs. Gantt & her biscuits. I am loyal to White Lily although I have friends that only use Red Band or Pillsbury...no comparison. Where I live you would never leave flour in a bowl & mix biscuits in it over & over again. It definitely would go rancid & get bugs. I do live in a tropical state. I imagine Betty constantly uses an enormous amount of flour so she could store & use her flour as she suggests. Just be aware.

Hi Brenda, I was cleaning out my Mom’s (91) yrs.) desk and found a small can that was wrapped in contact paper to hold paper clips, etc. Guess what I found under the contact paper…your favorite biscuit cutter (a red can labeled Chef BOY-AR-DEE Hard Grating Cheese can). I am so excited to start using it as my new biscuit cutter. 😊 I tried attaching a picture but can’t find a way to include it here.
