I just finished AIT and this Thursday is my first drill for National guard and I feel like I took the right path but I want to join Active duty

I'm in Florida, in the guard, and I'm waiting to get out of ait to do collage then go active duty, all while finding this in my recommended for no real reason. If this isn't help from god I don't know what is.

Also psa if your an army reservist it’s easier to transfer over to active. My unit is huge or company got cadets new soldiers every day in processing. So if your unit is under strength good luck. Especially as a nasty girl.

I got denied to go from army reserves to Active Duty, and I'm really going through a real hardship, they didn't give a fuck, My 1st Star denied me, told me to finish my contract then go Active, I still have 5 years on my contract, I feel like my life is ruined, it sucks badly

Also it depends on your MOS, I'm 35P for example and the active component has them listed on the top 20 critical MOS.

I have a question. I am in the Texas National Guard, been in for about 3 and a half years. I just got married about 5 months ago. Me and my wife have been talking about going active duty. My question is: once my conditional release gets approved and everything, what is our living situation going to look like? Will there already be a place for us when we arrive to our duty station? Will I have to live in the barracks and make her stay back home until I find a place?

Don’t join the guard / reserve first. You have no benefits and it’s hard to plan a life around random deployments
