I was traveling around on a Saturday in May of 2024 with my 81 year old Dad. He is a veteran of the US Army and also a retired Fire Fighter and EMT.
My Dad is a big History buff and reads a couple books a week from his local Library on all sorts of subjects, including the great lakes.
It is always fun to go with him to musems as he usully knows several side notes and antecdotes to add to the items on display.
After eating at Tony Packos for lunch (see other video for more inormation on Tony Packos), we decided to check out the National museum of the great lakes.
The museum contains a bunch of information about the great lakes and its roll in commerce over the last couple of hundred years, as well as a number of historical items.
The museum also has a tug boat and a 617 foot Ore Carrier which you can go aboard and tour.
The Ore Carrier was used for over 70 years to haul coal, corn, and iron ore across the great lakes. It really is an impressive ship.
Thanks for checking out the slide show and…
Have a nice day! 🙂
