Italy is a much bigger nation than Argentina. Argentina cheated in 2 of their world cup victories (the Peru bribe in 1978 and the Maradona handball) and still Italy has more world cups. The copa americas arent as credible as the euro because up until 2016 they were played more often and the competition is far weaker (Brazil never rlly tries). Argentina should be A tier and Italy should be S tier.

The biggest problem Germany had is their ego getting in their way. For years they delivered at WC but failed to win. After 2014 (where let's be honest they got lucky against Algeria and Argentina) the Germans just got way too full of themselves which started the whole "Die Mannschaft" thing, which is heavily criticized in Germany now. In 2016 they barely got past a laughable but passionate Italy squad and were rightfully kicked out by a better France team. But ever since 2014 they seem to have lost their hunger and because they still had 2014 in mind, they thought "We don't need to change" which led to the 2018 and 2022 debacle. Now they're currently in shambles like never before and almost no one in Germany cares about their national team anymore.
