Shohei just needs to be more patient with risp. Swung first pitch and made contact all three times at the plate with risp. He's too eager to bring in his teammates lol

@@juannavarro9767 the 700m is for everything he offers, both on the field and off. It's impossible to quantify his value in simple terms like RBIs and HRs. Plus it's not your money so why do you care so much about that part of the equation lol

@@airtioteclint Might not be a physical effect, of course. You see it in other sports where a "two way player" struggles with one of the key disciplines, or is injured and can't perform it - the mental burden of needing to perform with only one way to do so where they're used to two, can affect the other approach. Take cricket, for example - genuine "two way players" (they call them "allrounders") are far more common there, but if an allrounder has an injury that prevents them from bowling, that can knock their confidence to the point that their batting suffers, etc. Could be a bit the same with Shohei. And then there's the whole "being ripped off for millions by your closest confidante/best friend" thing.

@@airtioteclint The injury is at a part of his arm that won't really have much affect - I think he definitely feels a different kind of pressure to perform than when he was on the Angels - overall he's definitely still looking like a great hitter, just that our expectations of him constantly one-upping his previous seasons are catching up to what he can actually do.

I think ohtani should bat 3rd behind freeman.....freeman is good with 1 out situation and ohtani performs well without risp...It is a temporary solution because ohtani have to forget about swinging in the first pitch with risp....Untill then batting 3rd is the best way to use ohtani and freeman

A lot of that $ was because of his pitching, and he can’t pitch currently. Everyone knew Ohtani wouldn’t be “worth” the contract money in his first season, when he can’t even show 50% of his game.

CT3 needs to steal Mookie's game socks, J-strap and put'em on before his next AB... At this point, he may even need that Voodoo shrine from "Major League" in his locker as well - his ABs are cringe worthy at this point. If only we'd converted Michael Busch to LF/2B instead of banking on Lux. It really was good to see Pages this early in the season. Vargas is next, if Gavin keeps proving everyone right about being nothing but hype...
