@@knotkool1 The main meaning of "funny" is, expressing the comic wit (e.g., dramatized incongruities) to make people laugh. By that criterion Tracy is uber, epic funny. The secondary meaning of "funny" is odd, peculiar, e.g., coincidental; Jody Hughes did not mean this sense.

Someone recently said "We are in the midst of a tragedy, and trying to treat it with comedy - and it's not working." So yeah, I get where you are coming from. I find it interesting that in American culture, as seen from an Australian perspective ,that American sit coms show an unrealistic lifestyle ,such as the show Friends for example ,live an unrealistic lifestyle while the cartoon shows such as The Simpsons and Family Guy show the real conundrums of American society. A quote I remember was , you can tell the biggest lies to Americans and they will love you unconditionally but they hate being told the truth.
@DivineSimply5 жыл бұрын
@@romandybala There's an element of truth in that. There's certainly PLENTY wrong with my country, the USA. But if you moved here, you'd find just how critical we are of ourselves - a lot of it expressed through our drama and literature. It's our Puritan streak to constantly be beating ourselves up, and let's face it, we came into existence on the basis of protest, demonstrations, and argument. Just ask the British. But from an American perspective, and possibly to answer your question, what Americans see is that quite often, folks of other nations who are quite vociferous in pointing out to us everything we're doing wrong, are not equally as forthcoming in discussing - or listening to - what's wrong with their own country. America- bashing is always in vogue, and it can get old. Just an observation from a Yank.
