I got chills when you got to the part of the cover photo. I’m a voluntary forestry member looking for was to better manage the trees that are infested with EAB and oak wilt, if anyone sees this and has and connection to indigenous tree care I’d love to hear from you :)

Very good talk, great message abt the Trees. He has done an amazing job with awareness of these precious trees. Dr.Jefferson is so amazing. I am fortunate to know both of these incredible men.

Those skinny little trees were not created by people from before 1955. Boy Scouts maybe. And even the older ones are not more than a couple hundred years old. Yet the Southern Ute Tribe has formally disassociated itself from your premise (after this video was made.) They claim to have lived in this area for all of time of course. Nice video, Sheriff Anderson!

Well Mr brush,, it’s unfortunate that you don’t understand and know the knowledge of what happened and how this were done,, culturally burnt, and modified for certain circumstances, perhaps you need to learn about it rather than against the natives who YES were here before yourself,, and in fact did modify these trees, guaranteed you would learn something to help out your people and houses.etc.. they absolutely have the knowledge everyone takes and uses to survive and make a living from….

There is a massive one on southeast shore of island lake along the grand river trail. There was also a tree hollowed out by fire on the small island of which has collapsed in a storm since but I have seen bone chards on this small island and the west shore of this lake has some interesting geological features as well

If you go to island lake state park and walk down stairs on south east shore and head north you cannot miss the marker tree its at least 200 years old

I believe the western shore of island lake to be one of the largest burial mounds ever found. Anyone who has been there will quickly realize that the geography on the western shore of lake is not natural. There are two 300 yard long 60 ft high ridges seperated by a trench in between the two.
