Good morning Gwen, I just stumbled on your video this morning. Love the 8 point star quilt! My son and daughter in law received a star quilt for their wedding from her Mom's side of the family. It was gorgeous too and the story behind the creation of it was even better. My daughter in law is half Choctaw (not sure I spelled that right so my apologies). I would like to know if I was to make a star quilt myself, in choosing the colors, do various colors have a different meaning and reason for it's use in quilt? Also I would love to quilt along side you and learn your skills and skills passed down from your grandmother. Also, I too, don't care for the name of the Drunkards Path block. Thank you so much for sharing your video. You have such a calmness in you that I needed that this morning. Blessings.

Hahaha, as I'm aged and into the needle job for hobby then I understand why America traditional women making a quilt for the going to marry relative girl as a memory present from movie Steel Magnolia. Yes, it contains not only time, craft skills, arts but the most meaningful memory for the bride. When one Australia woman went to Taxus and bought one from thrift store; she couldn't believe American got so much time doing the pretty hand work due to not knowing American traditional culture before hand. Now, the quilt becomes one of her memory. Of course, hanging on the wall to APPRICIATE the craft......STF.......
