I live in Southern California, in the past I've collected greenery from the tree lots (free) and I would just mist it with water and it would last 3-4 weeks. Your mantel looks amazing!

Pebbles having her kitten fun in the twigs! 😻😸I am so hoping for snow ALL winter! I live in Nebraska, but we have been having the brownist winters, yuck. The mirror turned out really neat! I have a large mirror similar to that one, what a great idea to turn it gold!

Mary, 3m Command Cord Bundlers would come in handy for securing the branches without having to hammer in nails. I don’t know how long they’ve been around, I just found out about them a few days ago. I think they are brilliant. I love the wind swept look of the branches and greenery on the mantle. Beautiful as always!

Aw, my favorite. I love a naturally decorated mantel. I live in the country and every December I wait for a warm day and collect branches and berries and rose hips for decorating.

Oh Mary,how lovely! The best thing about this is when you’re done there’s no need to box it all up to store. Also, I love the fact if more people did something like this less money would be spent at the big box stores,and would go to small businesses & one’s community. Well your Christmas decorating with a cat is looking different to mine. We have two kitties. They'll be 2 years old in March. As I was putting decorations around the mantle etc, the two of them were systematically knocking them down to the floor again followed by a wrestling match with a santa and a penguin!!! Little divils. They're just lucky I love them so much.

I do miss the snow since moving from Chicago to the Atlanta area decades ago. My husband says that I've romanticized snow and forgotten months of slush and dirty snow. haha I don't care, snow is magical. ❤😊❄️❄️❄️

Where I live in Canada we have four distinct seasons, always. My sister and I phone each other every year when the first snow falls and then we laugh and plan our trip into the woods for our Christmas tree and make a day of it. Mary, this is lovley and the fact that you didn't spend money on it is a good lesson for us all. A tip to make things last a bit longer is to spray the decidous elements with cheap hair spray from the dollar store. That is a trick from an art teacher. You can still do this in place if you don''t mind the spray getting on your mantle. Thank you for sharing.

I enjoyed shopping your property with you. The view of it with the snow falling was so peaceful. This Arizona girl enjoyed “watching” how enchanting it looked with the pond and garden arbor in the back ground! First, I'm so jealous of the snow. I live in East Texas and just pray for a dusting every year! Second, if I went out and clipped nature to try and do this it would look like, I don't even know. I can only imagine. Lol. Third, yours is just beautiful!

Mary, that is really beautiful. If you use a fine mister, they should last well during Christmas. I love how your cat just becomes part of the decor. My cat would tear that all down. My cat will eat any plant, so I have to stay with artificial. However, he does not bother any decorations or the tree. The snow looked so pretty.
