Thank you Tanya, I am a beginner as just did a mini workshop over the summer so had no idea of quantities. Your video is very helpful.

Hi, do you have a video showing the result of using this compared to not using it ?

Hi Lyre, the main difference would be in how colourfast it is. If there is no mordanting, the colour will easily wash away or disappear. it is sad when a nice shade is achieved:(

Hi Tanya. Do you also recommend to use white vinegar when using iron acetate? the domestic one with nails. And would you say this is important for cotton also? Thanks if you could clear me. :*

*I use white vinegar when I make iron water to pre-treat linen. Typically just iron water without white vinegar for cotton. **I try and use dyes that contain tannins for cotton first ( avocado stones, oak bark, pine cones). They are the easiest and don’t require pre-treating really. The colour shade becomes a bit lighter but it is still colour fast. To ensure it lasts long, I pre-treat the fabric in advance.

@@tanyarobinson when you refer to "pre-treating" the cotton fabric first do you mean with a mordant or something else?
@tanyarobinson Жыл бұрын
@@tiffanyzal-herwitz8745 yes, mordanting in this case. ☺️
