NFP is evil bc it thwarts nature.

I used OvuSense. It measures your core temperature. Took us 2 months to conceive. I can’t do the regular method of taking your temp. My work schedule is too erratic.

I can think of thirty reasons to practice it- health benefits, natural, successful at avoiding or achieving pregnancy, practicing self control, taking sex seriously, etc. if you need resources for her please do let me know and I’d love to send them!

This thread has a few things going, so I want to step in as a medical student and just comment that OP is misinformed. The Creighton Method / mucous observation practiced by couples that are properly educated is more effective at avoiding conception than "standard" birth control practices, which assume that the body can be dominated and forced into and out of sterility on a whim. Additionally as has been said, the method can be used to achieve pregnancy. Further, the method can be used to diagnose and treat a variety of diseases affecting the woman (and to a lesser extent, the man.) On top of all of that, a couple practicing this method and receiving appropriate care will have much less dangerous pregnancies, lower prevalence of multiple children per pregnancy, and as a result of these, healthier babies. It brings me so much satisfaction to help women live healthy and fulfilled lives simply by teaching them what their body is saying. Most of the methods, like basal body temperature, have simply not done the groundwork to support their claims, and I would never personally endorse them toward any direction of family planning. There is a second and more important picture that most people in our culture have a view of sex that is warped and twisted by pornography and our culture of gratification. Honestly the best reason to practice "NFP" is not so much the timing of conception, but the reclamation of our sexuality and discovering how much more there is to sexuality than mere titillation wrapped in anxiety.
