Do you think a spray or wipe would be as effective as a syringe for the spot on application? At least to the legs?

I try to keep things natural but we lost a heart dog in 2016 to Lyme Nephritis (a version of Lyme disease that attacks the kidneys) and are so paranoid now. I find myself resorting to the chemical pesticide applications, then feeling horrible about it and stopping, but being so paranoid about it that we don't take him for walks in the woods or anyplace more high risk for ticks. I also have a cat horribly allergic to fleas. I will be trying multiple of these to see if it they will provide us all with some relief!! Thank you

Awesome Video and recipes. Thank you. In New Zealand much cheaper to buy Pure Neem Oil in bulk. We have four small dogs and lots of fleas/ticks daily! Trying to decide if buy a 25l or 5l container of Neem oil. What do you think? Does it go off? I know most things supposedly have an expiry but are usually totally fine for long time after! Would love your thoughts xx

Wow, I had never heard about using amber crystals! I'm definitely going to give it a try. Thanks for making the video! I'm still unsure if the repellant spray will work. Right now, I'm using a spray made from soap+witch hazel+neem oil+cedarwood oil . I was really hoping for it to work (It was a lot more convoluted than the previous sprays I have made: acv, rosemary tea, etc). But my dog is full of fleas :/ Do you have any idea why the spray isn't working for me? Could it be that I'm not using it correctly? (I spray it throughout my dog's coat every 2 days. Maybe it needs daily spraying? Then again, I almost drenched my dog in the spray today morning. And I found 3 fleas crawling on his head today. Maybe I'm not applying it correctly? Ugh, I really want to avoid chemical treatment but it feels like that's the only thing that works..)

Great video. I love the shampoo idea and I am very excited about the amber necklaces and have already ordered two for my cat. FYI though, although Geranium oil is safe for dogs, it is toxic to cats so I'll just omit it when making these recipes. I think the Neem and Ceadarwood should do the trick! Thank you!

HI I really want to stay out of giving my pup chemical worm and tick repellents, he has got some fleas on his and I had to give him one of the chemical ones we have here in Australia called advocate. I know these repellents are really harmful to their health. Can the remedies you mentioned here be used for heart-worm as well ? also even after the chemical repellants the fleas are still in his body. Can I still use these remedies to get rid of the fleas? Thank you. I'm so glad I found you and feel really bad giving my pup the chemical flea worm repellants.
@MicolAndOtherAnimals
@MicolAndOtherAnimals Жыл бұрын
You don’t want to take heart worm lightly, but there’s lots that can be done holistically. The remedies I have shared are what I use now and used when I lived in a warmed climate (read: heartworm endemic area). I also tested regularly for heart worm (as in, before the season started and then every 8 weeks more or less).

I was just searching confirmation on the amber dog necklace for fleas and ticks. Thanks for confirming that! In the 80’s I routinely used a product to squirt on the top of kibble. The active ingredient was sulphur. It was mixed with sunflower oil and other oils, good for the coat, and worked well for fleas and ticks! Not finding it anymore😢. With that product, dose was according to dog weight. Used for 30 days for it to begin to work. Sorry it seems to be no longer available. Maybe you know a product or recipe like that?

@MicolAndOtherAnimals
@MicolAndOtherAnimals 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I hear you, it can frustrating sometimes. So, some oils can be dangerous, but my research has shown the ones mentioned are not toxic when used topically (so not ingested)and diluted properly. Of course, each cat has it’s own sensitivities, so it’s always best to check one diluted oil at a time. 😊

(commenting again just in case) I have prepared but the measurements in the document you made feels off. 9g of neem oil is not 1 tsp.. and 5g of cedarwood oil was definitely over ½ tsp... Can you please verify the grams and imperial measurements for the shampoo and daily spray

@MicolAndOtherAnimals
@MicolAndOtherAnimals 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Harriet! I use the same recipes for my kitties, but as always, make sure you cats are ok with the ingredients. As far as raw food: I have seen many people struggle with recipes that were not meant for their animals. It’s always best to make a recipe based on your cat’s specific needs. You can definitely book a consult if you want, and we can formulate recipes together that you can then use as a starting point 😉

So, most oils can be dangerous if ingested, but of course it depends on how much was ingested. I am comfortable using these recipes on my animals, especially since the oil are diluted, but of course it’s always best to do your own research and then check with your dog individual sensitivities. I hope that helps!

I'll mix up the shampoo for my pup today but as a weekly deterrent for fleas should I apply to his whole coat, diluted, or just spot treatments? He's 85 lbs and a FURRY Shepherd 😉He seems to be getting/keeping them either from our yard or his daily walks🤦‍♀️

I use the shampoo weekly if it’s a high flea/tick area/season, and I have also backed it up by us by the spray on legs, belly, and neck and the massaging it in. You could replace the spray with the spot on, but the shampoo is key! Neem needs to get to the skin and sit there for 10 min (I saw a study long ago that mentioned the time, but I haven’t been able ti find it again 🙄 still, I follow it to this day and set my phone timer each time 😉) let me know how it goes ☺️
