Hi Heidi. I don’t email and such, I’m about as basic as it gets. BUT at age 9 my son had the entire foot pad by his toes plastered with planter warts, public pool got the blame by the Doctor. An appointment was set the following week to burn them away. At work, I was saying how nervous he was about getting it done and an older lady said cut a good slab of onion, set it on plastic with the foot on it a half hour daily til gone. So, evenings half hour show, he sat with his foot on the onion and 5 days- they were GONE. We kept the appointment and Dr took off the sock while explaining, then removed the other sock… looking puzzled, he picked up the chart saying he’s here for wart burning..?!.. I said raw onion for 5 days for half an hour daily - gone! He asked could he adopt that method 😯 as it ripped his heart doing a burn treatment on younger children. Another child had one wart on the fatty side of middle toe, so I suggested chopping the onion and wrapping the foot inside the bag arranging onions in between the toes. 3 days and it fell out in the baggie. Wonderful little things aren’t they 👍. Use this as you wish dear. 🤗♥️

Love these! As soon as Jewelweed was mentioned I quickly searched it so I wouldn't forget (then I leave the page open on my laptop). Interesting to note that it's also called "touch-me-not". Makes one think they shouldn't touch it, right? Actually it's called that because when the seed pods are touched they pop the seeds out. It's also called "snapweed". I had heard about Jewelweed curing poison ivy but totally forgot about it. All the other testimonies were great as well! Just love this series so much! God bless!!

I have always known Jewel weed as “touch me not”. The seed pods explode when ripe - so much fun! I have had a lot of fun showing my grandkids the seeds. Last year I discovered the real name of this plant and it’s benefits. I made a first aid spray for 2 of my boys that are very sensitive to poison ivy works great.

It grows many times right in proximity of poison ivy, example my daughter's backyard. I got me seeds and it now exploded over half my backyard 😅

Omeprazole reduces stomach acidity (why?) I'm an RN who worked mental health & most of our clinic was on it (people complained that meds caused stomach upset). All these people needed to do was eat before taking their meds (the meds are a whole other story!)

@@floridahomeandgardeningwit5457 Former RN till I refused to participate in an experimental biological treatment. I think there wasn't a single person over 50 that I wasn't passing a PPI or H2 blocker at, as well as a statin. Made me start looking closer at it. None are meant to be long term yet some folks were on then for 20 plus years. Sometimes, I'd pass patients a cup full of pills and ask them one by one, why they take it. Most didn't even know how it got started and why. Flashback: Got to get those 9PM meds into the little old lady on a pureed diet. So you crush all 20 of them and mix it into applesauce and start to feed the lovely sundowning lady her night time "snack", only to have her spit it all over you. Fun times on night shift.

⁠And they are convinced (if they’re like my parents) that because the meds “fix” their numbers, they’re perfectly fine. Mom believes she doesn’t have high bp because her meds keep it under control. Gah!

I looked it up and to my surprise even the NIH has an article on it. Some one sells it on Amazon for over $100 - didn't look what size, but anyone can make it, seriously.😅 Always learn something new! Dr Patrick Jones in one of his talks had mentioned teasel and my "insides" said get it. My daughter with RA tried it, in combination with her regular medications and swears by it. Major pain relief, she gets it all the time now. I will make some, someday, when I find a bunch of teasel and dig the roots. This year I heard that jewelweed also works on stinging nettle "burns", so I tinctured some and made a pulp, in the freezer now, for when needed. Since it is strictly topical I wanted to use witchhazel, could not find my bottle 😅 so I took plain rubbing alcohol. Marked the bottle EXTERNAL ONLY😊

Jewelweed is awesome! I even make a tincture of it. Works absolutely the best. Also narrow or wide leaf plantain is excellent for stings of any kind. Which grows in our yard and fields. Use fresh by bruising the leaf and hold on sting for a few minutes or make a tincture or salve. 💕 and God's blessings to all🙏🏻💕

My kids grew up calling Jewel weed "Poppies" because when you touch their seed pods they pop open! Mother nature places it wherever poison things grow as an antidote. My chickens love the flowers! Thank you Heidi for another great video!

I love these testimonials..I love my jewelweed wherever there is poison ivy or poison oak jewelweed is always near it. I’m infusing in oil right now to make a poison ivy, poison oak soap.

@@kleineroteHex Some people do infuse in oil, heating the oil gently for the quick infusion method. I would not trust using oil with fresh plant material and jewelweed loses the beneficial constituents when you dry it.

Used egplant skin on a seed wart as a kid and it went away and never came back. The typical comercial products did not work, but eggplant skins did. Thanks for sharing!😊

@@jillmarczak9561 I don't recall exactly just that i put a piece of peel then medical tape and changed daily or more. Best guess was a couple weeks it was quite a long time ago. I remember thinking it was a joke but it worked.

I love my jewelweed liniment - it totally got rid of my grandson’s eczema that we couldn’t get rid of using meds etc. 1 spritz each night for 3 nights - gone! It’s also wonderful for bug bites - stops itching immediately! Edit - I haven’t tried on poison ivy/oak as no need thus far

When I read your comment, I chuckled when you wrote " Modern medicine and ancient roots" because my mind immediately said, "modern medicine and ITS ancient roots", which may be what you actually meant, But modern medicine actually does rely on plants today as in ancient times. Except that it thinks that it can distill the essence and create a "better" drug than God created with the plant elements that work synergistically (something that modern medicine seems to miss).

I love these videos, I grab a notebook to write it all down. I think the "O" word your having trouble pronouncing is the generic form of prilosec, an acid reflux medicine. My husband took that stuff for yrs. Until his first heartattack. Be warned it will make your blood pressure drastically. It causes more problems than it helps.

Omeprezole, Esomeprezole and Lansoprazole are all antacids, basically other names for Pepcid. I used to take as well before I started fermenting.

Omeprazole, esomeprazole and lansoprazole are all proton-pump inhibitors, not antacids. Pepcid is a different class of drug, and its actions work to reduce gastric acid as well. There is a big difference between antacids and the above medications. Just saying so people don't confuse that. You are right, fermenting is the way to go!

Generic form of prilosec. It made me very dizzy. A pharmacist told me it can make alot of people have hypertension. My husband was on it when he had a heart attack. His cardiologist took him off immediately.

Easy, easier than pie😅 I keep forgetting mine for months, so I get vinegar, which I use. And the dang scoby just gets THICK, but it is alive and well and of course makes babies...... gave many away already. No takers, they eventually go on the compost.

Found a great mullein plant in the woods at an old homeplace in SWLA. Can I get some help on how to make home remedies with it? It's so beautiful and such velvety leaves! Looks like it's going to flower soon, also.

2nd year mullien. Grab some leaves, dry them and store to put in teas for congestion or allergies. You can tincture fresh or dry leaves. Folk method tinctures are usually 2/3 ( I do about 3/4 ) fresh plant and I use at least 100 proof alcohol. Dry leaf tinctures are 1/2 jar of material with at least 80 proof alcohol. Once it flowers, harvest fresh flowers, dry them well then extract in an oil (I use coconut for additional antibacterial properties. This oil is good for treating earache. As long as the eardrum is not perforated. Don't forget to collect some seeds and sprinkle them around.

Omeprazole generic for Prilosec. Is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that is an anti-ulcer medication. It is prescribed frequently for heartburn or GERD (Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease Stomach acid is necessary for many reasons. PPI’s work by neutralizing the acid pH in the stomach. The acid is designed to trigger the esophageal sphincter to close prohibiting stomach acid from going up into the esophagus causing heartburn and GERD. Why would you prescribe a medication to neutralize stomach acid? I have read studies that state that seniors have low acid levels in their stomach. I have never seen a doctor test acid levels for complaints of heartburn, etc.. A medication to reduce acid levels is always prescribed. Long term use of PPI’s cause bone density issues among other side effects. A large percentage of seniors are on this medication long term. It’s no wonder that they have issues with osteoporosis! Even more concerning is the fact that these medications are available over the counter.

Why do we need the acidity in the stomach to be so low? Well for starters, it kills anything you may have ingested that can be harmful, like bacteria. We all know about the harmful bacteria that seem to pop up in our food supply. It also is where the process of digestion starts and plays a key role in breaking down food into individual nutrients and components to make them more bio available (absorbed and used by the body). So yeah, let's medicate to destroy the natural processes and make us more susceptible to the next piece of fruit or veggies that happens to be contaminated with salmonella or listeria.

@@reibersue4845 Let me explain it another way. When you swallow, your food travels down your esophagus directly into your stomach. At the bottom of the esophagus is a sphincter (imagine the opening to your rectum). The sphincter is a muscle that has the ability to constrict or relax. By design, when the acidity of the stomach contents reach a certain level, it signals the sphincter to close preventing the stomach contents to back flow into the esophagus causing problems. Conversely, low acidity will cause the sphincter to relax and open. Hope this helps.

I made my own eggplant extract and am using it right now on a basal cell. It is almost gone. I go back to the dermatologist next month. Curaderm BEC5 cream is a treatment for basal cell and was created by Dr Bill Cham many years ago from eggplant. .Read his story. I made a cream out of some of my extract and using it on my husbands actinic keratosis right now and they are clearing up and falling off! It is amazing stuff.

@@kjybutterfly This is for or a 4 oz tin. 1/4 cup infused calendula oil, 2tbls shea butter, 2 tsp beeswax, 3 drops vit E oil and 3 drops neem oil. 1/8 cup eggplant extract. Melt first 3 ingredients, cool to 95 degrees then add vit E and neem oil and stir in. Cool in fridge until almost firm. Whip mixture with beater until creamy. Slowly pour in eggplant extract beating until incorporated. Put in fridge to set. I don't store mine in the fridge. This is my own recipe. You can double the recipe. Apply to spot once or twice a day. Should see results in a week. Hope this helps!

PLEASE READ!!!!! I have had hives for over a month and a half. Benedryl helps but needs to be ongoing. Are there any natural remedies to help? I've changed everything I touch/eat one at a time to no avail. Thank you for reading.

Following.....my son (age 25), must take antihistamines almost daily since very young to battle hives. We cannot determine the reason but the meds can't be good for him. He won't go to a doctor.

I think the key thing is finding what is causing them. Hives and rashes are a couple of the body's ways of eliminating toxins in the body be they allergens or otherwise.

@dorothymyers1324 my RA daughter, now 40, always breaks out in hives when she eats conventional dairy, strawberries and vinegary things, including ACV. Keep searching, you fill find cause and remedy!

@@dorothymyers1324 I agree, that finding the source of the hives is most important. From what I have heard, Dr. Eric Berg here on KZfaq and our personal Naturopath, that when our skin flares it is our skin acting as a secondary elimination organ. This could mean that the liver, our primary elimination organ, is over stressed and so our skin is taking on part of that function. The Homegrown herbalist (also on KZfaq) says that Milk Thistle is great for supporting the Liver. Hope this helps.

I've been exposed for many years and now I'm having lots of weird symptoms and inflammation that my functional medicine doctor is trying to address.
