Natural Selection Official Trailer 1 (2016) - Katherine McNamara Movie
IN THEATERS AND AVAILABLE ON VOD AND iTUNES: August 26, 2016
Tyler is a young man who is desperately seeking direction from a world that seems to have abandoned him. Everyday at school he fights for survival, as he is easy prey amongst the endless hallways of fellow student predators. Searching for answers, he looks to his friend Ingrid, who appears to have it all figured out. Tyler takes Indrid's ideology and adopts it as his own. Not long after, Tyler sees the whole picture more clearly, but is this new vision for the better? Or could it be more damaging than he could have ever imagined? Soon, Tyler finds himself in the middle of the storm and gets caught up in something he may not be able to change.

You seem to be misunderstanding natural selection. Natural selection does not work at the level of the group, the species or even the individual; it works at the level of the gene, the fundamental unit of analysis (as emphasised in Dawkins' book The Selfish Gene). In working at a higher level (i.e., the group or the species), this would be called group selection. However, group selection was discredited by Williams (see "Adaptation and Natural Selection") and others. And sure, natural selection may work in regards to physical strength or intelligence but at the end of the day it can be simply reduced to whichever gene (not even the organism, interestingly, as the organism is simply a survival machine for the gene) can out-reproduce the others and spread throughout the population. :)

I saw the film yesterday and let me tell you, indrid was totally in love with tyler. He defends him from the very first day and gets jealous when ty starts to fall in love with page and lies to break that relationship. Indrid was a loner as well as tyler but this one had faith in people and loved page, that drove indrid insane because he wanted tyler to be with him in his crazy journey of murdering people.

@@whitneyangelie3682 4 years late, but I think that’s the point he’s the quiet one that’s taking everything in and trying to figure it out which is why the story isn’t so much about him, but what he sees around him as well as the things he doesn’t even realize he sees. Which is why the story mostly follows him, because he’s an outsider looking in. And they follow Indrid as well because he provides a different mentality on handling what is going on around him.

For all the ppl who asking if this was based on columbine no, it’s based on a kid in Finland I believe who had a KZfaq channel called “naturalselector89” his videos are still up on his channel. They had info on him as he listed number 1 on a video by a KZfaq called chilles or chilled (top 10 confessions made on KZfaq). But after gathering some info and searching after watching the top 10, I realized his movie was based on the shooting in Finland by Eric who is the number 1 on that top 10 video. Who else agrees?

the rascal of life Big talk for someone who has never used a gun to defend himself or lost a friend or a loved one to gun violence. If you and every other gun nut in america decided for one second to stop worrying about your own fears and started thinking about the country as a whole, you'd see things like this chart compiled by a website documenting gun use and violence run by the University of Sydney. Do you understand what "Homicide per 100,000 people (any method)" means? It means overall murder rate, irrespective of population: www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/compare/194/rate_of_homicide_any_method/40,66,69,192 FYI China has more than a billion people. Majority of them are poor and starving. And for some reason, their murder rate is 1/5 of ours. And we're not leaving this country until facts about gun ownership finally defeat fear mongering and paranoia.

id be willing to bet that every negative commenter would change there tune if this had 5 million views and all the comments were positive before they came along, the film has potential, people just love band wagons

There is no excuse for abuse weather is physically mentally or verbally abusive. The problem is people take action in their own hands or they kill other people because they don't like being bullied. This is really sad what happens in here no one should be able to go through stuff like this we should all help and get along with each other no matter where we are in school at home or anywhere else because words hurt more than slap in the face and I am against bullies and domestic violence. If you find yourself in a situation like this there's many hot lines s that can help you including 911 and ask for help 😢 please your a human person

Seems like a competent film, judging by the trailer. The only giveaway that it's on the low-budget side is the fonts for the actors.

LOL these actors are so unfamous that they had to put their film credits under their names in THE TRAILER

Katherine McNamara is a lot more famous because of Shadowhunters. And they do that a lot in trailers anyway.

Especially considering the title of the film is a quote referenced and worn on the shirt of infamous Columbine school shooter, Eric Harris. On the day of the shooting he wore a shirt that said "natural selection."

This is why I'm a fan of teachers volunteering to take some courses and carry concealed weapons during school. One or two guards get popped off and then it's a shooting gallery.
