Introduction to the InVEST Crop Pollination Model

Күн бұрынEric Lonsdorf (Lead Scientist) and Christopher Nootenboom (Researcher) with the Natural Capital Project team at the University of Minnesota provide a fun and informative overview of the Crop Pollination model.
The InVEST Crop Pollination model focuses on wild pollinators providing an ecosystem service. The model estimates insect pollinator nest sites, floral resources, and flight ranges to derive an index of pollinator abundance on each cell on a landscape. If desired, the model can create an index of the value of these pollinators to agricultural production and attributes this value back to source cells.

This is extremely helpful! I happened to just be trying to re-educate myself on the details of various InVEST models, and found this. Very helpful step-by-step explanation of the model, including data input requirements and how to interpret the outputs. Thanks for producing and sharing this.

Thank you very much for the provided tutorial, which quickly introduced me to the environment of the InVEST model. I wanted to ask you about the availability of the Land cover biophysical table you show in the video. As I found out, it differs from the sampled data (simplified land cover types, e.g. forests, grasslands etc.) that can be downloaded on your official website. For my research, however, it is important to distinguish not only land cover types but also the type of crop, as shown in this video. Is such a detailed Land cover biophysical table available?
