Nature is beautiful close up, so grab your macro lens and go and explore what is on your doorstep. In this video, I have only to hours to spare but macro makes photography so accessible so the time constraint isn't half as bad as it seems and I make three really pleasing images.

Simon you constantly amaze me in your ability to find compositions that are so simple yet beautiful walking through the woods and a field. I would typically walk right by most of the images you see and are able to create. Your vlogs are always help calm me down with your soothing voice and the pace of your vlogs. I am so glad that Thomas Heaton mentioned you in his vlog or I would have never known of you. Best of luck with your hernia surgery. Hopefully the third time is the charm. I will miss seeing your work for the next little while. Good luck with your recovery.

Lovely images Simon. The fly on bluebell is special :-) I spend much of my time looking at the ground as I'm unsteady on my feet, and I'm always amazed at the beauty I see even in an urban environment. I recently spent a couple of days with a tiny camera kit (Fujifilm X-E1 and cheap, manual focus lenses) photographing flowers and plants growing out of cracks in the pavement and brickwork near my home.

Another wonderfully calming film Simon, your attention to detail never ceases to amaze me! All three images in my opinion were equally stunning and certainly the way you managed to capture the fly on the bluebell gives added character. I particularly like the composition and focus technique of the three flowers in the first image. Your love of nature and commentary information is, as always, an added bonus! I only had one frame with the droplet on where the flower was also in the right spot. Things shift around so much at this magnification when you're hand held.
