This is a recording of our Live Demo Nature Journaling with John Muir Laws!
Nature journaling is a way of documenting your observations of nature on paper. It can elevate our knowledge, understanding, and connection with our environment and the world around us.
In this demo, John shared what is in his nature journaling kit and his best tips and techniques for nature journaling, which any level artist can bring along with them on their next outdoor adventure.
John Muir Laws is a principal leader and innovator of the worldwide nature journaling movement and the Wild Wonder Foundation’s president, co-founder, and creative director. John is an award-winning naturalist, artist, scientist, and educator who has dedicated nearly four decades to connecting people to nature through art and science. Over the years, that love has grown to a commitment to stewardship, nature conservation, and a passion to share the delight of exploring nature with others.

This was so interesting. I could’ve listened to jack talk for another hour! His enthusiasm is infectious. I’ve never heard of nature journaling before. Definitely going to take a look into it. Thanks for organizing this.

I have a Buddha’s Hand tree that produces large and more intricate versions of this fruit. They are a kind of citron, so no juicy stuff inside, just the white pulp, which can be used in cooking. Now I’m eager to see and draw this year’s fruit!

I AM CONFUSED...is it JOHN MUIR LAW...or is it JACK MUIR LAW...as you...Maria...call him JOHN...then suddenly...you are calling him JACK???????...Which is it Maria? Is it both?...thanks Janis

He goes by both! :)

His given/official name is John Muir Laws, and he goes by Jack. He does not go by Jack Muir Laws, however. :)
