Nice, thanks! Ha ha I thought I was alone in filming scenes like this to extend my vacations. Hopefully see more of these in future. The flies always seem to do a guest appearance on the audio. Tge woodpecker was good in the main video. It's hard to capture the resonant echoey woody taps of the woodpeckers, but a joy to experience.

I've thought about doing this sort of thing as a dedicated channel. We are out hiking and camping quite a bit and I think there is a lot to be gained from environmental sounds along with a beautiful nature scene for a longer stretch of time. Thanks for this, Ben. Would love to see more of this kind of thing.

It's one of those things that's so incredibly simple to do in the moment, but can produce such relaxing results. Audio is certainly key, and the mic I use (Rode Stereo Videomic X) does so well with this sort of stuff. I have on more extended clip like this from later in this trip, and will make this more of a regular thing on future trips. It also gives me a wonderful excuse to just sit down for a while and enjoy the sights and sounds while the camera records.

@@BenHorne Good to know about the mic you are using, that was one I was considering and I really like how everything came out. I am between that and getting a small external field recording set up, but its hard to beat the convenience of the Rode.
