I didn't peg it properly for this first time assembly Simon. Pegged in properly would keep it more rigid. I wouldn't trust in high winds either though, so a sheltered spot would be preferred.

@@TheWanderingIrishman I like mine for bikepacking because its very compact and I am generally lower down out of the wind with the quicker option to ride out of trouble if needed. Looking at yours the tent base is a lot wider than the Soloist so it's probably a bit more stable, mine has 4 legs rather than 3 but it's barely wide enough to fit a mat. I was hiking last weekend in Wales with 50mph gusts with students but opted for my Snugpak Ionosphere which is tough in bad weather due to its low height, I was tempted to try my Soloist out but bottled it because I had the added responsibility of the students. I may give it a whirl, literally!, in some rougher weather but take a bivvy bag as a reserve in the future.

@@simonwoodward438 I've been meaning to get to Snowdonia for a while now, I'll give you a shout when I do. A bivvy is always a good idea on a lightweight trek.

I think most tents are dodgy over 35mph winds, unless you pay big money for a Hilleberg.

I watched a few reviews on KZfaq of some Amazon tents and this one seemed to tick all the boxes in most videos. I think it was a good buy and I'm looking forward to testing it out in the wild.

Thanks Aidan. Yes, you can remove the outer, rain proof part and roll up the door that's on the inside to give you a better view.

@@TheWanderingIrishman Thank you :) I'm considering this tent for a year backpacking in South America, where I'll be doing some multi-day hikes/treks in Patagonia and in the Andes. Do you think it would be up to the task? I also saw in another KZfaq video that the rainfly sits on/brushes against the inner tent, which can cause condensation built up. Is this the case? @@user-wp6op3mi5z wow that sounds like quote the trip. As far as there t goes I would go with something a little more durable. This is a good backpacking tent, nice and light, but I fear it would crumble in extreme conditions. Yes, condensation can be a problem too. Éire abú 😉

@Mark Nelson I would Mark, the sleek design along with it being pegged out properly and positioned correctly, I think it would hold up well in high winds.
