Naunton is referred to in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Niwetone. There has probably been a settlement there for at least 2000 years. The present church, dedicated to St Andrew, dates largely from the 15th century.

Naunton is a very charming, quiet and very beautiful village nestled in the countryside. Some houses have a more ornate character than in some other villages. The church shown at the start of the walk has a style that reminds me of the Tudors. Thank you for showing it to us 😀😀😀😀😀😀

Dear Kevin! This walk in Naunton was truly stunning. The construction technique of stone fences is fantastic, and in fact, in most places, they are only for marking, not to close the house from the outside world. This is a wonderful thing today in 2023. Did I see the milk bottles next to one of the houses correctly? I really enjoyed the walk. Thank you!

It is stunning indeed! And birds seem to enjoy early spring. It's very refreshing to watch such a beautiful scenery, while one has 30cm of new, white powder on the ground, and -12C. But it's almost March, so let's hope... anyway, thank you. Gorgeous as always😊💟

@KevinTheCountryman Thank you, Kevin! Yes, and tonight we're going to have a new storm (25cm), just for a change. But in April comes a sudden spring, quick, and crazy with colors. It lasts only 2 weeks in this continental climate. Later on I'll complain about hot summer, you'll see. I'm looking forward to more of the gorgeous 🇬🇧 ❣️

Hi Rebecca, it's called a heating flue. It's part of the heating system and expels waste gases from your property.
