It would be nice if you could make a short compilation showing all of your nautilus gear sculptures in action. The two videos just show brief glimpses.

Sure, I will upload it when I get a chance. The description has a link to the project on hackaday which has more details.

This is really satisfying, if you would make it a youtube short or tiktoc I think it would do really well.

I think the Nautilus Butterfly is my favorite. Does the spacing allow you to mirror it and add a second slot on the opposite side?

It's a good idea! Yes, you should be able to mirror and add a second slot on the opposite side.

I can imagine there is some friction in these 3D printed wheels, do you plan to make them also well machined from metal?

It can certainly be done with metal as well. May be later...

What would the graphical presentation of the output torque look like in a two gear system? I would imagine it would look like a sine wave?
@rubbotix7261

I am not an expert here but given the gear profile is logarithmic, it will be more like an exponential decay with a jump at the end.

@@rubbotix7261 Maybe more like a none-sinusoidal, asymmetrical for sure, with curved upward ramp.

Please for the love of God, can you just show them turning? That's all we're here for. Not three quarters of a rotation and immediate cut to some animation of how you built a slightly different one.

video would be more enjoyable, if all degrees are explained only once (180, 120, 90), as those are quite "common". I did like to see all various setups and surely didn't have any problem with that. Any how nice video.
