On the Engine room door is a space for dropping a clipboard or binder. This would be for keeping your daily logs when entering the engine room for any maintenance or just to record a walk through inspection.

I just bought a Donzi, and was already convinced that I possess a fine product, even though it's just 25'. Knowing that the manufacturer builds vessels like this solidifies my conviction. Even though it was remodeled, Donzi interiors are very nice from the factory..

@NautiStyles, I have a request. Would you kindly put this video on a repeating loop? This 80 ft. Live-a-board is my dream home. I can’t afford the price, but I would love to fall asleep dreaming about it. Dreaming I’d be the Captain and my deserving crew would have the other 2 staterooms; I’d use the Crew Quarters for paying guests, and that money would be used to pay for the gas. Thank you, Victoria and Rico for all of your amazing videos!

@ChrisHarding-lk3jj
@ChrisHarding-lk3jj Ай бұрын
Single side band radio is a development of AM HF radio, SSB is actually a form of modulation that increases the efficiency of the signal. With full AM modulation you have a center carrier wave and an upper and lower sideband on either side which can be observed with an oscilloscope. With SSB the center carrier wave and either one of the sidebands is suppressed and the entire signal is carried in the upper or lower sideband. By having the entire signal carried in a single side band you effectively increase the range of the signal. It is similar to using a pressure nozzle on your garden hose, it restricts the larger stream into smaller stream that can reach much further distances.
@rebel-yell9453
@rebel-yell9453 Ай бұрын
@@ChrisHarding-lk3jj That's not entirely accurate, when you use SSB radio you can place two channels on one frequency, you modulate one sideband, say upper for one vessel to use the channel, and another vessel can use the same channel but on the lower side band, this allows two simultaneous and independent calls on the same carrier frequency, therefore effectively doubling the capacity of the radio frequenc band in use. Let's say you want to call someone on a specific frequency band that has a 50KHz channel spacing. With normal AM radio you can have two channels in the space of 100KHz for conversations. But using single side band you can have 4 conversations on that same 100Khz space of the spectrum. Doubling the number of actual comms channels within a frequency band. I was an ET, Electronics Technician in the USCG, I repaired every piece of electronics aboard the vessel upon which I was stationed. We had a pair of 150 watt SSB transceivers aboard and I spent many hours on them trying to keep them working at optimum capability. The distance you can cover with a radio is dependent on a few things, the effective radiated output power of the transmitter final amplifier, the efficiency and gain of the antenna and the standing wave ratio of the tranmission line that connects the transmitter output to the antenna input. It is also dependent on the wavelength of the frequency band you are using. The longer the wave (lower the frequency) the more distance you can cover, plus the altitude of the ionosphere and the number of layers of it, will have an effect on how much extra distance you can cover using a technique called skip.

very nice feature on the engine water intakes. I saved a 65 ft Viking back in 1995 using the engines. We were offshore diving and heard their distress call on the radio while taking a break. Ran over to them. By the time I got in the engine room the water was halfway up the blocks. We had to close the valves and remove the intake hoses to make the engines pump out water. It would have been so nice to have this setup. After that I installed the valves on my boat. You would think it would be more common.

10:19 That makes a HUGE amount of sense. 90% of the time outside of startup/shutdown you wouldn't need to keep a super close eye on the engine monitors. So you could hide them away unless an "idiot light" triggers an alarm. My major complaint about a "sport fisher" styled boat is the lack of a railing as you move along the side of the boat, Victoria, I'm SO glad you seem to share that gripe! My major gripe with this particular video is not seeing Victoria climbing up the tuna tower. Sorry Rico, for ME at least you don't hold the same attraction!

That boat looks to be in good mechanical shape, the external wood could use some work, sanding and finishing, there were areas of paint that need touching up, however I would expect anyone buying the boat would first take it to a reputable shipyard for a haul out and a full refit depending on the survey report of course. In south Florida Don Patton used to be the king of yacht surveyors, don't know if that still holds true. Back in the 60's through the 80's if a vessel passed a Patton survey you knew it was a stout, safe, dependable and capable vessel. Plus your insurance was a lot cheaper with the Patton seal of approval. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of buying a vessel today without a thorough, technical and structural survey including every system and function. You figure buying a used boat, that in the first year of ownership you will throw down somewhere between 10 and 20% of the purchase price in maintenence and repairs before you even take it out for a cruise. Of course if you're a novice or foolhearty you'll skip that initial yard period and maybe skip your next birthday too. Me, I want to know everything there is about the boat, good and especially bad, before I ever trust my life to it out in the ocean. A 5 dollar part can cripple a vessel or even take it to the bottom if it fails at just the right/wrong time.

Victoria, not to disappoint you, but those huge master cabinets were initially for Rod Storage not for wife's clothing. On a sportfish, it's a very important feature and the further hidden and locked-away the better. Each rod/reel can be worth hundreds of dollars and a sportfish that big will probably need 16-20 of them just for trolling.

I have watched your channel extensively. I was born in Miami and raised in Sarasota, and my family spent many, many hours on boats. I now live in Dallas, many miles from the Ocean or Gulf but I have a practical suggestion for boat owners. I have a counter top composter that I use to compost all kitchen organic. It doesn’t make biologically active compost but it does take most organic kitchen waste, dry it and grind it and reduce the volume to about 10% of the original volume. It also takes organic waste and makes waste that will take much. much longer to degrade. while stored (I store mine in a sealed container in the freezer). The end result is the my regular trash waste, although I do recycle separately, is mostly plastic and paper that can’t be recycled. On a yacht you might add the composted material to the compactor, but the end result is still much less waste, no need for a kitchen disposal, and waste that has a much lower probability to produce unwanted odors. I’m not sure why I don’t see these countertop composters on yachts with available AC. I might also mention that I run my composter every 2-3 days for 2 hours, and I cook every day. Just something to consider. Scott in Dallas.

I really like this boat, the interior was a big surprise when you first walked in the door, I was thinking wow look at that open floor, its perfect for a classroom to teach others what they will need to know when going fishing in the ocean. I wonder how much it would cost to lease vs to buy this boat. Buying up several 20 year old boats and using them for fishing tours in the Florida waters and to the Bahamas would be a great job for retired old water dogs. If I was to have a fishing boat that took others out deep sea fishing, I'd definitely have a video for the people to see that taught them correct way to tie the knots and how to do their own rigging on their lines before going fishing. I have always wanted to teach others things that they are able to teach others when they are older. Passing knowledge is the best way of keeping it alive years from now. Im happy to say i have taught many others the proper way to hunt and fish when I was younger and now being older i get to think about how many people have the knowledge I have shared instead of keeping it all to myself. I've never been a greedy person and I have always wanted to teach others the correct way and I know those i taught will pass on what they learned from me and thats awesome to give such a gift to others. Share the Love, because love is the glue that holds everything together in our Universe.

Important comment here. I don't care about fishing whatsoever! I love this yacht! Pilot house is freaking amazing. The boat is like new and well cared for. Jesus! The main salon has all these great windows and light! I can't believe this unit is still for sale yet I am typing this on 8/21/24

That pole I called a center rigger. If it's attached to a pole though and actually trails a lure, it's called the green stick

It is not a green stick those are usually very long fiberglass poles. The correct name is center rigger but is often called a shotgun.

Nice boat, especially considering the history of Donzi and Fort Lauderdale. This is only the second one I ever even seen. Me personally I would not have had a problem climbing up that tuna tower- just like climbing a tree!

Absolutely beautiful boat. I want one. Also, Victoria is so beautiful to look at I have to watch the video twice to actually see all of the boat properly. Well done Rico!! Sorry for being creepy but I just had to share that with you. One thing I’d like to hear is how much the boats you review cost. Helps to put everything in perspective. Thanks for all your vids, you guys are awesome!!

there is a type of storage shelving, which can have multiple shelf units which roll for side to side to access. i think that could be extremely useful on a larger vessel, where needing as dense a storage space as possible but Having the space to justify having one, would be epic. so, like having a dry goods pantry, where you have such a unit, and all you have to do is turn a handle to move the shelf to access the space between, but ti Wont move unless you want it to, but it could in theory hold way more than a similar size space that was stationary or immovable. i believe they are called "Levrack" shelves. could be something to look into, if yer interested.
