So the "thief" rank sort of gives away the fact that you're a loki - you've both been loki's since almost the very beginning.

I play them all the time. Rank is a dead give away. Also helps to tell if your on the receiving end of a Loki.

Definitely one of the best lineship battles I ever saw. I had a few doubts in the beginning to whether the AI was a Loki player, but after continuous firing at the Santi's stern I got quite sure. AI do fire chain on occasion by the way.

Don't....the game was great when it came out then they did the dev thing and ruined it with ridiculous econ timers and afk sailing 4 hours to do a 5 minute combat.

Ai or "bots" are the reason why I don't play games like this, would have warships , world of tanks etc. World of tanks blitz however never has bots.

I feel for this guy. He's just trying to rank up his Santi, and here comes two Loki's, and now he's lost his Santi. Not an easy ship to replace. :( Did you try to contact him later, and let him know at least he was being videoed? At least that would make up some of the hurt he must have felt.

Yeah, I probably would have taken pity on him and left the battle if I wasn't recording for the channel. I'd let him know about the video as you suggested, but I'm not sure how I'd contact him as I'm not a British player. Maybe I'll try to find him on one of the NA Discord servers

As someone who is new and learning the game I feel that guy did pretty well given the unfortunate circumstances he was dealt. Fight looked amazing and taught me a quite a bit I need to practice on.

Just letting u know.. I was watching this on my phone. And it looked fantastic. So realistic with the rain and smoke. It was coming down in sheets and that is soooo realistic. And the smoke was lingering, it was really great.

I'm glad you think it turned out looking good. NA really captures the feel of early-modern naval warfare, especially with the black powder smoke and sounds of the guns.

Man, I wish the combat of this game wasnt tied to such a grind. Remember the old alpha/beta tests and it was just ship battles, it would just dump you in combat, no fuss and you could burn through ships and learn combat to your hearts content without the god-awful open world stuff :D They could have made the combat component into an e-sport, though I guess that it would take a lot of players out of the MMO component of the game.

It would be interesting if they added some kind of ranked death match mode, or maybe an option to challenge players on the open world to a 1v1 duel.

Have you ever been on the receiving end of a Loki Rune? How would you deal with a surprise PvP situation like this?

Yeah, I've had plenty of Lokis drop into my battles, though never two at once like this. Most important thing is to make sure they don't trick you into a position to hit your sails. AI doesn't do that so it's easy to surprise PVE players into lowering sails to full. Also I'd try to keep an escape route open until I've worked out the skill of the Loki player.

Thanks, glad you like my vids. I think I only had the Loki mission active for this one. I'm not sure if the pvp hunt missions count with loki kills.

nice battle. Btw you can use [8] to undo all the men pumping so you have more for gunnery and sails. But to be hounest that's not really needed here

AI does use chain now and they will actively manual sail as well.

So, I guess you haven't heard that raking fire kills these 1st rates in about 3 rakes.... He can out repair any damage you do to his broadside. Repair is greater than your damage. So just rake, leak, or board.

Well, I guess he'd run out of repairs eventually, but this is good advice for a Loki when you can't repair yourself. I'll have to practice my rakes.

why did through most of the fight you barely took any damage, i dont have any first second or third rates so i dont know how tanky they are but you took multiple broadsides and took no damge, unless when doing the loki thing it doesnt display the ships damage

Indeed, it has some of the most beautiful and realistic ship models in any game. But it has pve zones now, so you don't have to pvp unless you want to these days.

Game looks great, was really looking forward to play it, tho there is one thing that really throws me of. Well game in general looks quite realistic what not, so its impacting me even more cuz of it - how much fucking beatin those ships surives..... im like 9 min into a vid, and its just getting silly tbf. So unless they in secret put stalinium im thoses ships, im kinda displeased but what im seeing. Still nice vid, thumbs up etc

It's an item you can use that allows you to randomly take control of an AI that a player is fighting somewhere on the map. Very sneaky!

Picking on the weakest nation what a surprise PvP is now pointless why play a 2 hour battle you know you’re not going to win to get no Xp nothing may as well surrender straight away cut your losses and get back to the grind
