Australia should've chosen this over the type 26. This is a solid platform. As usual with BAE, type 26 will be over budget and behind schedule. And Australia will end up doing major repairs for the first few years of their service life.

Well the Type 26 Frigate is designed by BAE Systems Maritime (UK), and will be built in Australia by BAE Systems Australia in ASC Shipbuilding's facilities in Adelaide - not Navantia.

Well yes the Hobart Class AWD's are, but the Type 26 Hunter Class frigates are a British design by BAE Systems Maritime, and will be built by BAE Systems Australia in ASC Shipbuilding's facilities in Adelaide - not Navantia..

VLS Sea Ceptor anti-air missiles, 48 cells. 24-cell Mark 41 VLS for: Tomahawk, ASROC and LRASM offensive misilles. it also depends if australia will go on 48-cell mark 41 vls.

@@himbisaquatics It is 48 cells but the great thing about the mixed silos is the mk41 launcher can quad pack Sea Ceptor or sparrow missiles. In full AA config thats 144 missiles in total. this maybe the configuration for RN Carrier escort group.
