Navarre Beach Kayak Fishing | Catching Red Snapper and Mahi Mahi NEAR SHORE

In this episode Karen and I are headed to Navarre Beach Florida to do some Nearshore and Offshore Kayak Fishing. It doesn't take long for things to kick off and we catch American Red Snapper, Gray Trigger Fish, Mahi Mahi and others while Fishing in the Gulf Of Mexico.

Thanks man! They get pretty close to shore in the panhandle, theyre regularly caught within 3 miles of the shore from about april-october

Earned a subscriber! I’m a local (Pensacola) kayak fisherman. I’m always looking for new accessible spots by kayak. Are these reefs public posted coordinates? Or a private spot you know of?

Heck yea man I appreciate it! Nice! They’re public numbers but I had a very tough time finding them online, it’s almost like they don’t want people to find them 🤣. Head south of the pier 2 miles and you’ll find some if you have a bottom machine.

I just moved to the gulf coast near grand bay and bayou la batre, originally from central FL. How far of a paddle out of the navarra you think til I can get on some king or mahi!? Looks like fun! Also I'm running a 19ft metal center console, done up for bow fishing If you ever wanna hit it up let me know!!

You can't start reeling when you feel the bite. gotta let the snapper come up, take the bait, turn, and head back down. just let the line come tight and let the fish pull some drag. once it's pulled for 10 seconds or so, you are on.

I appreciate it! I’m not sure to the exact foot, but we caught our snapper in 50-60ft and trolled in 60-70ft

Thanks man! Karen got her snapper on while cigar minnows and I was using a shim amp butterfly jig. For the mahi we were using a small 2 3/4” glass minnow jig until we got broke off and then we were sight casting with cut cigar minnows

Kayaking_Kennedy I usually use cut up Bonita or cigars for snapper. I have yet to hook into a mahi. Maybe this coming summer I finally get one.
