you dont even have to do this to find my navicular it sticks out, and has a red bruise on it, as if its saying hello to you

Excalty i had been broken which show bruise and swelling on and around navicular bone

I think I fractured my navicular bone. Should I see a podiatrist or orthopedic doctor? Also, I have no health insurance. :/

Thanks for sharing. Does this mean that if they have a positive test they should wear stability shoes? Confusing why you'd share if a layman like me doesn't know what to do with that info. Thanks.

Hi Ryan, This is a test likely to be used by health care practitioners. It's possible stability shoes could be useful, but you likely should seek a professional for consultation. This is not a test for self-assessment.

As with all things to do with the body that you read or watch on the internet: it depends. You need to get assessed by a professional to find out for sure. That being said, it's unlikely that navicular drop (kind of like flat feet) will need surgery unless you are in a lot of constant pain. Foot strength training like a physical therapist would prescribe for you is likely to be the first thing to try. There are lots of resources for foot strength training around the web, but again, the best thing you can do is see a podiatrist or physical therapist, and certainly before you see a surgeon.
