As a young man aspiring to become a future leader of the country and protect the innocent, it's disheartening to see how poor leadership can leave a bad taste in your mouth. Prime Hall's experience is a clear example of how inadequate leadership can lead to tragic consequences. Due to his leaders' neglect, he never got the closure he needed with his stepmother, and was not allowed to attend her funeral. To make matters worse, he was forced to continue with sniper school despite his emotional state, which prevented him from recovering and recouping.

I feel "when he said that, part of me died." Same BS happened to me as an E-2 11b in "96; second week of airborne school in Benning. My newborn daughter flatlined twice during delivery and was in critical NICU when I got the red cross message. Lt. Col told me I was to complete the school before getting leave to fly back home. Had to stomach 2 and a half weeks more of the "airbone" rah rah song and dance from the training cadre before I was able to fly home and get things situated. The result of this BS is what causes huge drop in morale and trust in the leadership and is what makes good soldiers decide not to re-enlist.

Only reason to re-enlist is to take advantage of a once in a lifetime opportunity (Language school is the only thing I can think of) or you are such a POS you have no idea what you want to do in life. Military is filled with degenerates and ribbon chasers...as you got wind of in Airborne School.

Remember who you're fighting for!! Only in an abstract, indirect, and metaphorical sense. They won't ACTUALLY allow you to support your loved ones when and how they REALLY need it. Then when you need help from your big "military family" (they keep lying to you that your a part of their "community") the VA will deny the benefits they PROMISED you and claim any issues you have "were not service related". Frankly, they're the enemy now

8:30 it’s comforting to hear you guys talk about that LT like that. I worked for a platoon full of guys like that; and I wasn’t one of the cool guys, so I was double shit out of luck. I couldn’t understand why leadership seemed like it was hell bent on screwing over people. In fact, I quick saying Semper Fi by year two; it was Semper Fry after that.

I feel his pain. In 87 i was calling in 81mm fire for a dog an pony. When i had to call a ceasefire for a med evacuation. The brass came down told me i would spend the rest of my life in Leavenworth for killing one of his MARINES . After the dust settled it was the 25mm gun on a LAV that misfired then chambered a nother round blew up in the turret. I KNOW RIGHT THEN I WAS OUT.

I remember going to the range at Pendleton and they were going to let us non “0311”types (primarily non infantry types, although yes “every Marine is a rifleman”)… they were going to let us play around with some 50 cal machine guns. As an 0251 I was excited to get to shoot a 50 cal on full auto; However it was a hot dry summer and you could not shoot more than a couple of rounds or short burst with out kicking off a brush fire down range. This of course resulted in repeated ceasefires and all of us grabbing shovels to beat out the fires before they got big, mostly by just stomping and kicking dirt around. Funny that I ended up later completing a career as a firefighter/ paramedic for a SoCal city department.

I am proud I was in the Marines and completed my 4.5 years. Met some great leaders and men. But, I saw and experienced some really bad leadership that seemed to be the majority attitude in the late 80s to 91. I was glad to get out and would never go back. Finished Air Force TACP. AF has its own problems too but usually treat their people right. I❤ the Marine Corp cause it ❤F!@#ing me! We all said it daily.

Hey brother this is a little off the topic but i noticed in other videos you advertise for Gerber life insurance. You should consider finding insurance that offers insurance to vets with suicide attempts. My wife is 100% and she cant get life insurance because of her PTSD, past alcoholism and suicide attempts. Just figured that pertain and be more helpful to vets with similar experiences and difficulties. Much love and respect bro, love your interviews!!

An officer ND’d a LAW on a fob in Afghanistan (luckily at a bit of an up angle) then really tried to fry the lcpl that handed it to him. He assumed that in Afghanistan, on a fob that takes fire at least once a day, we still have tons of inert training devices that have cool little red clicky things on it.

Come on guys. “Another incompetent officer.” I was a Marine Mustang. I saw incompetence on both sides, in all branches. The one thing I always noticed is that enlisted often talk about how stupid officers are. You never hear that from the office corps. Officers - at least in the Marines - routinely talk about how amazing the enlisted are; despite mistakes, shortfalls, and the bottom 10%. Not letting someone attend their step mother’s funeral is criminal. But it isn’t “just another incompetent officer”. I once saw a young enlisted guy initiate an explosive charge while a range an officer was holding the charge. I saw an ODA NCO feverishly trying to use a radio he hadn’t turned before he rolled out of the gate, never mind comm checks. But you would never hear an officer say, “another incompetent enlisted.”

What I find rich is the Army gaslights all of us by saying "don't judge the Army by your first duty station" while also saying "perception is reality." Do your one contract, do the bare minimum, get the benefits, save/invest as much as possible, get a 180 day Skillbridge program and ETS.
