The mind goes in the self-preservation mode. They teach you to train your mind that you can do 100% more. So if you do 30 push-ups they want you to do 130 push-ups. Whatever it takes!! Do not quit!! Because they want you on the battlefield to not quit and leave your brothers behind. That is what you're fighting for the man to the left and right! God bless America

Holy shit. I’m a medic in the regular Army. I went through AIT in summer of 2020, before they started changing a lot of stuff. At the end of the ten day culminating field training exercise that concluded our emt and tactical medic training, at Camp Bullis in San Antonio TX, for the last 72 hrs straight, we did large scale combat operations. Mass causality training, field aid station training, and movement to contact and battle drills. We walked or jogged and carried all our gear from training area to training area. The drill sergeants tried to make it as realistic as possible with pyrotechnics and arty sim. No one slept for the entire 72 hrs. It was in the top ten hardest things I’ve personally done and by the end I was in a strange, altered state of mind as if I were outside of my own body. I could not FATHOM, doing anything remotely similar to that for FIVE days without sleep. That just blows my mind.

Went to bmt for the airforce fall of 2021. We would watch y’all running with those packs on while our instructor is having us do some light Pilates basically and we all said to each other “glad we signed up for the airforce, we couldn’t do that shit!” For some of us, it motivated us. Because if y’all have to do all of that and all we got is 30 minutes of core workouts, we really have no reason to complain.

The fact they are surrounded by their brothers makes it less hard, for lack of a better phrase, because they motivate you. Even in basic training, when things get rough, you start to feed of that energy combined with the fact wanting to quit feels like you're letting your brothers down. That feeling when they see you struggling and try to motivate you is unexplainable. I've fed of of it and I've have to others, it's like some kind of drug.

Exactly. People think SEALs are these physical specimens, and they're definitely fit guys, but no more than any somewhat decent athlete. You see plenty of more athletic dudes at any regular gym. However, their mentality and will to push through discomfort and pain while staying focused is what separates them. Any decently fit guy can physically complete SEAL training, but the problem is wanting it so badly and being so focused on not quitting. Only very few want it that badly or are capable of wanting something that badly.

Yes, sir! I've been there, done that! It was the hardest week ever! I had to have that mentality of either kill or be killed because at the end of the day, this shit didn't prepare me to look deep inside my entire being and to conquer my exhaustion, my fears, and my existence. Yes, lots of my brothers didn't make it. But, there's no way I would ever blame them or look down on them as a quiter because there were times that I was ready to throw in the towel, too. What got me through is the thoughts and pictures of my family in my mind. That kept me going. And, graduation day was the BEST feeling ever! Today, I'm a better man, a better person, a better friend, but most of all, the best father because of it💯💯💯👍👍👍😁😁😁

@low down Goggins is an awesome man, he has helped many people like myself to get out of our ass and go for it man. He inspires many people to be better than they were yesterday, I give him that. But I do not give him credit for going through hell week 3 times and make it seem like that’s a good thing. Supposedly he doesn’t have any deployments history either (that doesn’t make him less than a seal than others). He was a recruiter for the Navy Seals, a promoter. But he did passed BUD/s and earned his trident. I give Goggins credit for being something better than what he earned. Some Seals after they retire just brag about how they were seals, etc, thats the highlight of their life, on the other hand Goggins did something for himself outside of the teams. That speaks volumes.

I was in the Navy but got out due to some unfortunate circumstances. The military can be used as a stepping stone to get to where you want to be in life, but it’s not the ultimate solution, at least for most people. It’s becomes just another job with its own unique set of problems. I’m grateful to have spent time in the service but I think it should be known that simply joining the military isn’t gonna make life easier or give you direction automatically. Stay blessed 🙏🏻

@@juangringo3906 so when you pass buds that's just the begining phase so right after you still have SQT training so the SQT training determines wether you join a team and get a trident if you fail SQT you won't be a seal and they'll give you a So2 or SO3 ranking. Oh so its like Basic/AIT for regular soldiers except its Buds/SQT. You have to pass SQT to get the Trident but you still get a BUDs diploma. You have to finish both BUDs/SQT successively to get the Trident and become a seal so you'd have to do BUDs all over again? Damn that must suck but i'd assume it put you in a decent position nonetheless and maybe safer so hopefully it still worked out. If you can pass BUDs you can take and give a lot of shit which is damn near mandatory in life in general. I use to be a combat soldier so ive been there. Not BUDs but being pretty good at everything physically/mentally to get ahead of my peers in service but I kinda failed at going along to get along or the politics of it all because its not what I signed up for. At least I didnt think it was. Lol I signed up to be a soldier and uphold the constitution which seems to be easier said than done in recent years. Still good times despite the outcome.
