In an interview during the promotions of Motichoor Chaknachoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui sat down with us for a candid chat on his journey. From talking about braving social prejudices, beauty standards and financial lows to making a mark in the industry with his terrific performances, he openly spoke about it all. But along with that, he also had a very different yet curt response when it came to discussing nepotism and casting couch. The actor feels that there's no such thing as nepotism or casting couch which is only 'media made'. He also makes a shocking statement when he says people who don't get work in the industry are the ones starting movements, referring to the Me Too movement. Watch this full video to find out.

Kudos to Nayandeep for facing such people! Nawazuddin ji is a good actor, but as a person - a big 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻 It is clear to everybody outside the ‘industry’ that nepotism exists.. casting couch exists! What about all those film stars who shared their experiences about nepotism and casting couch before this guy? Was that a lie? Fake news? I don’t think so! Feeling very disappointed and sad that even though he is a good actor he is such a not good person. His interview, expressions and views on things explains it all.

Dear Pinkvilla, Why wasn’t he asked about the allegations made on him and his family? I am inspired on how he kept going even when he had no food, shelter. He didn’t give up - like many other film stars. Very Nice! Nayandeep is asking him about meanest comments he received, why was he not asked about his behavior towards industry and his family? “Charity starts at home” - infact everything begins at home.. success, love, all the important beginnings. And just because you didnt face nepotism or casting couch in industry - you will invalidate Rajkumarrao and other film actor’s experiences?? Wow! Standing up right by the industry! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Pinkvilla - up your game! Have the guts to ask actual questions - because if you guys will not then who will? Dont support such characters! Nawazuddin seemed quite angry about something..usually, he doesn't speak this way. Liked it for some reasons..didn't like it for some reasons. He acknowledged that even undeserving people get a break here and included himself in that group. He deserves to be here but still, he said so. But the interviewer seemed nervous and not sure of how the interview was going. And he's right about Nepotism. Yes, you will get 4-5 maybe 10 films on your family's name but you cannot survive without talent and hustle. Look at Abhishek, Esha, Zayed, Fardeen, Tushar, Bobby, etc

Nawazuddin is SPOT ON here! In any field of human endeavor, anywhere in the world, people who reach the top of their fields struggle and face a lot of hardships to reach to the top and retain that position. Sushant Singh Rajput was a weak person in this sense simply because he could not stand up to the challenge. That's all! People must learn this harsh reality of life and move on OR stay away from such challenging endeavors. Life ain't easy and it won't ever be. People who have come out after the SSR suicide and spoken ill of the industry are either exploiters/MAUKAPARAST or have never actually had any balls to do anything courageous in life. I feel deeply sorry for them.

I think Nawaz comes from a regressive family and background. But you can't abuse him for his brother's deed. Why nobody is accusing Farah Khan for her brother's misbehavior? And divorce is a personal thing. Many people get divorce for a number of problems. Why everyone is blaming this guy??

I hold him responsible coz his niece came to him for help but instead of helping her out, he decided to not believe her and also blame her for his brothers actions. He was the adult there and he should have taken the right action. And for Farah Khan, ofcourse ppl held her responsible too for her brothers action which forced her to make a public statement denouncing her brothers actions.

I am liking the way Nawaz handled the silly repetitive questions from the host lol! But at the same time he has a great message for all of us instead of complaining and bad-mouthing others channel that same energy in our work. Nothing will come when you expect it but it will come. Just like with Nawaz it took him 12 years to get a leading role. My respect goes to Nawaz.

He is not Rude , He is just straight forward man. People like stories & complaints :) ... Mirch & masala. As far as about his personal life i am sure no one is saint among all of you :)

This Nayan guy asks the same questions to everyone and then sell videos by putting thumbnails of depression, casting couch, heartbreak. Even if a person has normal life he will make sure to get some jabardasti struggle stories. Good Nawaz didn't fall for this. Btw this man had also pu out a sad sobbing story of Pancholi family. 😉

I am soooo disappointed in Nawaz. I had such high regard for him but he shattered it with the nonsense he spewed in this interview. I can’t believe that he completely disregarded the horrific sexual harrassment that many of the actors and actresses have experienced. Nepotism is also real and existing in the industry. It doesnt hurt to acknowledge that. His absolute ignorance and blaring arrogance is sickening.

Nawaaz is so cancelled ! Get your stuff sorted out man. You don’t even realize the depth of things you’re talking about. He clearly needs help. Being a good actor or a talented artist is not enough. Maybe start with becoming a decent and empathetic human being first.

For the truth, one should Nawaz Sir's slow interview with Neelesh Mishra.... actually there he tries to speak his heart out ! Yhn pe toh kisi reason se jhooth bolna pad rha h :p

I just realise that people will have problem with film industry and politicians....but what people are actually forgetting is the people itself make politicians and stars....and all of a sudden they react as if bad only happens in film industry and politics..,..if people are so much worried about nepotism why they watch movies of so called nepo kids and why they vote for so called nepo kids.....what a wonderful actor is nawasuddin.....and why his personel behaviour is bothering everyone.....he is an artist guys look at him that way...why his personel behaviour is bothering you?.....we as a human being has to remember one point that a gold shop owner will definitely make his son as a next owner of his shop not the creative employee working in his shop.....I strongly believe that evry father in this society is doing the same.....do we call it as nepotism? Nepotism is everywhere guys not only in film industry and politics ....my comment doesn't mean as if I am ok with nepotism....my point is we point out something as wrong which we also do....

Many filmstars daughter and son hv failed in this Bollywood ..hema Malini daughter..jitendar son ...dharmendar son...amitabh son ...rajkapoor only son which made big was rishi ...so there are many examples but we hv turned a blind eye towards them..its talent and preservance which matters most

I watched d entire interview..life is unfair dat is surely a fact but nowhere I thought he was being arrogant or showing his frustration or anything else for that matter...everybody has an opinion doesn't mean will always match yours. Agree to disagree. So...his life his experiences n his opinions. Straight up! Stay safe all.. ☺

Ye bat toh sach zaroor hai ki bollywood mein casting couch jaise cheeze hote hai . But jabvi koi actor is bare mein kuch bhi kkehta hai to hum unki bat ka sacchai kitna hai wo jane bina hi bollywood ke bare mein vala bura bol dete hai . According to me this is wrong

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is right about nepotism. It's all about what sells. A producer has to make money off his investment. His product is being sold to the audience who pays for his product called cinema. If the society doesn't care for the looks or acting of a certain actor/actress, then too bad for them. Market dictates what will sell and what not.

The same guy interviewed his niece a few days back. One who levied sexual harrassment charges against his brother. Maybe that's the reason he's answering like this. He clearly doesn't mean what he's saying. Or maybe he just wants to be cool among Bollywood bigwigs. :)

Nayan has to change the script according to person ! When actresses come almost everyone talk about napotism, casting couch etc because its obvious for them to go through. Asking this guy those questions seem useless.
