Nayef Aguerd: Road to Recovery

Жыл бұрынMoroccan international Nayef Aguerd was one of the most exciting signings for the club during the summer of 2022, but almost instantly his season was brought to a sudden halt.
Suffering an ankle ligament injury in his first pre-season friendly away to Rangers, the defender was ruled out of action for the next three months.
In a race to be fit again for the 2022 World Cup in November, as well as trying to settle in a new city, Aguerd proved his mental and physical strength during a gruelling rehab schedule.
He now heads to Qatar to represent Morocco at the World Cup, after coming back ahead of schedule and making four appearances for West Ham.
This is the story of Aguerd's road to recovery.

My man blocked a goal against Croatia and made us win the point and against Belgium he was decisive in every battle and all this coming from an injury !!!! We love you in Morocco and I'm sure you will become one of the best central defenders in the world. Noteworthy is that Nayef is preparing his PHD degree in Economics!!! Mohammed the sixth football academy is a source for talents that are invaluable like Nayef and Ounahi !

I'm watching this after the victory of Morocco vs Belgium, I can't believe he just overcome his injury. He is a warrior and a huge treasure for the Moroccan team. The best is yet to come, I'm looking for a bright future for u buddy.

This guy had one of the hardest carreers. He grew up in the same city as me (Kenitra). At the academy due to health issues he was left behind when all his mates went to the youth national team. He was rejected by Valencia. Didn't give up and settled for a mid tier Moroccan side . The day he was due to train with the pro he contracted an injury and seriously thought about quitting football. Went to france and had it hard there . Then when he was going to play a world cup he got injured again . YET NEVER GAVE UP . RESPECT ❤️🇲🇦

as much as in Morocco we love to give credit to players like Hakimi or Ziyech, I think that Nayef is always the player who keeps us in the game. Always making the right decisions in the right timings. Morocco's defense has been at its best since he joined the national team. So proud of this man and hope to see you in the brightest places inshalah.

The best Moroccan player to take as an example for the next generations. he started from 0 he worked hard he learned english which it help him a lot to integrate with his teamates easly and also to familiarize with the england cultures. he is a real inspiration and he still working on himself to progress more and more and we wish for him all the success in this WC and in the Future. He is smashing , Morocco on the top of the group of deaths, Nayef scored a own goal, but it happens! was just bad luck, wasnt that decisive of a goal.. also was the only goal against morocco in the 3 matchs... overall he is playing perfectly till now

The son of my city Kenitra, a skilled player, this appears through his attacks. I can't say anything other than that I'm proud of him and I'm sure he has a good future. He's originally the son of a sports family, and that's how he overcame the injury and is a role model for young people. Tomorrow is the day I play against Portugal.
