NBA 2K21 is an upcoming basketball simulation video game that will be developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports, based on the National Basketball Association (NBA). It will be the 22nd installment in the NBA 2K franchise and the successor to NBA 2K20. The game will be released in Fall 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and later for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. A trailer came out on June 11, 2020 and features Zion Williamson as a character model. It shows in-engine footage and shows many effects such as ray-tracing and shadow details. On June 30, 2020, NBA 2K announced Damian Lillard as the cover athlete for the Standard Edition on the current-generation consoles. On July 1, 2020, NBA 2K announced Zion Williamson as the cover athlete for the Standard Edition on the next-generation consoles. The last cover was released on July 2, 2020 and it will most be Kobe Bryant. A couple of leaks teased Kobe Bryant being on the legend edition cover and many fans wanted it to honor him. There will be a #8 cover for current gen consoles, and a #24 cover for next gen consoles, both numbers were worn by Bryant throughout his NBA career, respectively.

Or instead of spending time changing the shooting for the worse, how about getting the AI to tell my teammates to play defense like the CPU opponent does. I never have wide open shots where the CPU opponent just goes in the corner and guards nobody. But pretty much every single F'ing time down the court , my teammates go and double team the foul line while Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are standing wide open .

Shooting broken...I have a life and cant sweat it up practicing for 6hrs a day...I shouldnt NEED a 99 3pt rating 30 shooting badges to hit 30-40% of my threes. Also last I checked Nba players dont HAVE to avoid their "cold zones" like the plague. I am a casual player but used to beat the computer on Hall of Fame...now I just lost by 40 on All Star..Layups and close layins (after rebounds) are a joke. What a huge disapponitment. My 10yr old son was crying because he cant hit a shot...he was actually pretty good last year. Cant believe i am saying this but i hope ea makes a bball game again..😔😔

Easily the best Channel for NBA2K tips and content. You actually explain why the different modes are placed the way they are and why one is better than the next, instead of just claiming they are and then moving on. You've easily improved my game by literally over 3x. Considering I was lucky to hit a 20% FG% and 3P% before and now I'm hitting 70-80% FG% and 60-70 on 3P%, and still improving and learning shot placement and plays. So far I use Right Stick paired with Trigger press and I hit my shots every time as long as I place the shot properly and I'm not covered well. Thanks for helping me learn to play this properly.

imho, probably because if they did keep the old gameplay mechanics there'll be nothing left to update every season except for the roster. basically, buy a copy of 2k20 and play it for like 10 years or more. which would probably be bad for the business.

I believe you need to equip flexible release to get more whites. Flexible release actually works this year if you don't have many badges you probably want it on at least bronze. You also need hotspots to shoot consistently. It's a chicken and egg problem, you can't shoot because you don't have badges and hotspots and you can't get badges and hotspots because you can't shoot.

Man it may be time for me to hang up the sneakers. I do not have time to master this in order to make layups. I like the game but its getting to complex for me. That sucks because I have been playing basketball games since bulls vs lakers. Hopefully nba live will keep the casual fan that use to be a hardcore fan in mind. Thanks for the video.

I'm in the same boat. Played Bulls vs Lakers back in the days, good times :) To make the game playable for me, I made a 2-Way Finisher (SF, Red/Blue). Got solid defense and a 94 Driving Dunk (without Boosts) and max. Speed. Fck Shooting, I rather have fun than frustration, it's a game! Turn the Shotmeter off, Timing: Shots Only, Aiming off, Freethrow: User Timing, Freethrow Aiming: off, and buttonshoot like I did in any basktball game I ever played. Whoever came up with this stickshooting nonsense never played on a regular xbox controller.

The delay and the sliders are different in every game mode it seems, and that is absurd. It should not be that hard to make a game that is consistent. It can still be challenging and fun, as long as it seems fair and consistent, which almost no sport games ever accomplish.

I'm peppering the aiming in. Currently I only use it in the corner and top of the key and I've found it easier to aim. On the wing I'm still using the button. Wanting to switch all the way to aiming once I get it down. I hit about 50% of my 3s while aiming. 83 3pt rating.

If you raise 3pt success from 55 to 57-58 then you can make shots with late or early release in a normal situation like a wide open 3 (not every time) but its more realistic like in other 2ks #hall of fame level

Shooting is OP this year,I’m not using aiming though,just R stick timing,shooting in Myleague is so much easier than it was on 20

The new shot meter is really easy once you figure it out (with both the "shots and layups" options turned on) but it's pretty funny how it's confusing a lot of people when they first play it thinking it's like 2K20, which explains the negative reaction. It takes some practice but it's really satisfying once you learn it. The "shots and layups" option turned on in the new "shots aiming" selection in 2K21 (which is turned on by default) and the standard "shot timing: shots only" method that was done in 2K20 are two completely different styles. If you want 2K20 back - Shot Timing: Shots Only Shot Aiming: Off

Aiming just feels so unnecessary. This is like when madden added aiming on throwing. Great for competitive players I guess but it’s a no from me. 2k20s shooting meter was also way better

Nah 2K20s was broken as hell. There’s people with a 40 three greening every shot, they should’ve made it where anyone under 60 three just can’t green,under 70 is really hard to green, and the higher the three, the bigger green window. Just solved this shitty games problem

You need hot zones and pull the, shot stick down and aim with it. You don't have to release it just work on your aiming. It's easier than you think

I don't get why 2K always mess with the shot meter, they don't even have to fix it. I guess they just want to change it to officially call it 2K21 'cause after all, the changes in the game were very little.

I use both buttons an stick however when I play park or rec I miss way more simple lay ups and shots than I should and I have tried meter on an off... I guess I'm like the guy below who said he doesn't have time to look for all that when making a lay up 😂🤦🏽♂... Thanks for the tips my brother. I will keep working on that aiming on lay ups tho cause its sad for me smh

Boycott 2k21 by playing 2k20. It's funner in loving my 6'7 play slasher that can shoot. You should too the game gets more of the job done when it comes to enjoy ment and that's what matters. Enjoy finally becoming a legend and having a mind of your own and not feel always forced to do what others are doing
