One thing, which really helped me is to just recognize when you're actually open. It doesn't take a ton of space for a 0% contested shot. Just a couple of steps

Man I can’t explain how much slowing the game down has impacted my winning percentage. Before, I would always try to play a uptempo style of basketball.. always pressing R2, throwing passes down the court, playing ISO and not really looking to set my players up, any time my shot wasn’t falling I would get frustrated and start taking contested shots just to try to keep myself in the game but in reality I was only taking myself out of it. Now that I slow my game down, I don’t get called for charges as often (they still call it even if you aren’t pressing R2) I don’t get as many turnovers by throwing the ball down the court, now I’m getting better at running plays to get my players open. The last thing I have to master is knocking down shots more consistently… I know 8/10 it’s a quick release and sometimes I do it too quickly that I end up missing a lot.. once I get that down I feel like my game will be complete.

With 2k22 you don't get that green feeling because sometimes you get a green and the ball still hits the rim on the bucket. Green release is supposed to be a rimless swish

I can’t shoot for my life on this game. I don’t understand how when I’m in practice I green my shots. Then, I hop on a court at the park and the shot timing and release fees different. I know latency exists! I don’t know what all it take in order me to be able to make jump shots. I’m tired of having to drive to the hoop to do layups or dunks instead of splashing down shots like majority of the players in the league today.

your probably better now but, get shooting badges, when in my career i’d suggest if someone’s defending you, flick your right stick left or right to get the defender to back off. this gives you wide coverage and it makes a bigger shot window. also i’d suggest getting a better jump shot that you can time.

Great advice. The jumpshot meter helps me more than having it off because I just switched my shot. I will turn it off when I master the timing.

@@tremaineKR do you make them? Your 3 pt rating should be high. Mine is only 81 I miss some wide open slightly lates/slightly early. I have set shot 25 base, Klay Thompson 70%, Ray Allen 30%. I think I need to change the base though.

What good is it when you can’t shoot even when you are wide open. I can cheese pick n rolls all day, but when it comes to shooting 3’s, it isn’t happening. Even if I release it at the top of my jump, with a player like Stephen F-in Curry, I can’t hit one wide open? I just went 0-13 in a game online that I won? The shooting is what makes this game not fun. That and the fact that you can’t get open to shoot a 3 and the ones you get wide open you still missing. It’s dumb

It's not always at the top of the jump. A lot of times it's when the ball gets closest to ur head. Practice a few shots with the players ur going to use & know if their release is normal or quick. Shooting is so easy btw when online ur meter can be wrong based on ur internet speed so turn it off.

Is there a difference between holding X/Square and using the Right Stick to shoot? Right stick gives me a higher arc but holding X seems easier?

Bro it's most likely due to your TV locked at 60 fps. For me it helped a lot to get to 144fps monitor, but shot meter is laggy anyways so just turn it off for online games.

Why is your shooting meter so much longer, moves much slower, and appears sooner so that you can track the pace of the meter? Mine just shows up after he's jumping and is either crazy fast or crazy slow - screws my timing.

You can still choose who sets the screen. Bring up icons like you’re gonna pass and just hold the corresponding button. You’ll also be able to control whether he rolls or fades.

Every shot is contested lol. That leads someone to think they should take it in. Since 99.999995% of all shots on the floor are a miss with legendary players, I figure I will get the points inside. Oh, what's that, a free lane to a dunk? Nope, not a chance because they come from 10ft away and block them... I've actually started using 2k as a means for anger management, so instead of getting furious non-stop, I try to play through. If I can beat the anger that 2k gives me, I can be immune to it lol.

Anyone else get the impression the AI just cheats - I hit the open man always and he stands there and doesn't just score an easy bucket, rather passes back to an guarded team mate. Yet other times I beat teams comfortably.

@@tristaneast8625 oh my bad was thinking MyTeam but if you have high teammate chemistry they'll shoot if you tell them to by hitting the shot button. Just like they'll always pass it 2u if you hit the pass button. Chemistry is easy to get high too.

Your exactly right. That’s why this game is a horrible piece of trash. I look at the stupid meter more than the actual player. This is really the worst video game I’ve ever played in my life. I CANNOT MAKE ANY JUMPSHOTS EVER. When I play the computer or against my brother, I shoot about 10% for the game!!!!!

I don’t want to share the ball and get open shots with role players. I wanna score 50 points with Tatum, Booker, derozan, Luka etc and make jumpshots IN YOUR F’N FACE LIKE THEY DO IN REAL LIFE !!!! Nobody on this stupid game can make layups or tear drops or finish at the rim, it’s a miss EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!!!!!
