Respectfully, I think pie charts were way too restricting. 2k17-2k19 was the peak for player builder. Back in those days, your lowest attribute was maybe a 50-60, but nowadays (and in the pie chart era) you have multiple attributes at or around 25. In 2k17-2k19 you still had distinct roles on the court with your archetype, but your archetype didn’t restrict you, just enhanced you. I mean bro you’re supposed to be a 99 overall, let me be at least decent in other areas, just not elite

The builder should be were u pick your primary and secondary strength, then you are able to tweak inside the build with caps on certain attributes depending on what you specialize in.

The best thing they could do is just completely remove badge regression. It was the fucking stupidest decision they could possibly have done. It’s a reason why a lot of content creators and a lot of casual player based in general left the game.

1. The NBA2K24 MyPlayer builder wasn't that bad at all in my opinion, it was just the attribute caps for most of the badges that depicted what kinda build you wanted to create. Also, I felt like some of the caps were very inaccurate and frustrating, and the ratings you needed were kinda absurd. 2. I feel like 2K should try to bring the best of both worlds, maybe 3 lol. If you take the badge point system from like NBA2K22 or 23, plus the MyPlayer Builder from NBA2K24, in addition with reworked/revised physical attribute caps, and integrate it all as one, you'll have a significantly better player building experience that would also be balanced, smart but accurate, as well as presenting "realistic limitations" to prevent the large amount of OP builds. 3. Badge progression/regression was F-ING HORRIBLE!!!!!! 4. Badge Loadouts and Core Badges needs to make a return.

I say keep this builder here on out and just focus on Pro Play and Servers issues

I’ve been playing 2k going on a year and I’ve never ever, played MY TEAM. I rather run the park, the REC, and play my career games. It’s really all about the grind for me, 2k has so much potential to be the best game of the year. Let’s see what 2K25 brings to the table, hopefully we won’t be disappointed.

my only problem w. templates is that the builder isn’t the problem. it’s the money/time needed to upgrade it. it makes more sense to just half the cost of a build so players don’t feel stuck after making a mistake in the builder.

If they make a badge everyone gets called the “potential rating badge” that increases by playing and winning games or doing good in games through Rec my career etc & the better you do the higher your potential badge grows giving you room to upgrade in more categories and it can only be for attributes that contribute to your myplsyers skill size etc, so a 5’10 pg shouldn’t be able to plus 10 on rebounding still, but they also shouldn’t make it just plus 1 to plus 4 it needs to be plus 5 bronze potential, plus 10 silver potential etc, and your potential points can only go towards attributes that are 50 and below so it doesn’t get to OP

They need to make the builder 100% customizable. If I upgrade my 3pt, nothing else should move. If I upgrade strength, nothing should move, but it won't be op if 2k makes overalls matter more than badges

I agree that our builds should reach a true 99 in our own way & not an 84 in create a player! People put too much money & time in this game to not be a true 99. 2k is getting too comfortable w/getting over on their consumers, not understanding that, that isn’t what got them in the drivers seat they’re in today.

In my opinion we’ve had this same builder for 2 years already. the builder being more restricted doesn’t mean the builder isn’t the same. i’d love for them to provide something brand new or like someone else commented let us pick 2 biggest strengths and tweak the rest

I agree this year’s builder and badge system is the best. Being able to have that many badges and not equipping a few was extremely exciting

I'm ok with archetypes coming back if they're like 2K17. In 17, your worst stats still werent super low. I had a SG slasher, but I could still make jumpers if I wanted to.

Lots of ppl want demi-god builds but tbh it doesn't make the game fun/competitive. Most competitive online games like League Of Legends, Valorant, Smash Bros, Cod, Pokémon & even Street Fighter, have archetypes + roles, it's rare 1 character can do everything in those games. 2k23 Next Gen was full of 6'8/6'9 players that could do everything & the game got boring quick, every match felt the same. However, 2k17 was fun because it was role/archetype based + most matches felt different & involved different strategy depending on the builds you faced

I have two opinions. First if 2k it’s based on macro transactions, I should be able to do whatever I want, I shouldn’t be no role player. At least with 6’9 Demi gods I was getting my moneys worth. As a causal player, I should be able to hop on the game and do everything on my myplayer, it is a video game. My second opinion, if 2k is going to go towards template builds, like you suggest, I should be able to get all of that nba players animations, ratings and badges that they have in play now. That will maximize my money and the 2k community’s money as well.

Hot take but my favorite 2k is 2k22 current gen bc of the balance with the point guards if you were a point guard you were a play shot with no dunking or you were a center with only dunking and defence i fell like if the next 2k is like that it will be so much better And obviously the small forwards were balanced but i just liked how you were either shaq with the centers or curry or kyrie with the point guards

The way to get superstar builds should be the Legend reward. Not stupid attributes that don't unlock animations. Give us the ability to make a 100 overall at Legend. Give us the ability to choose where we put the extra attributes. 2k will then still make money on the new builds you make 100 overall.

Pie charts was the best in my opinion not too many ppl could do everything having pie charts really balanced out the game in order to win you had to really play as a team🔥🔥🔥 I would love to see pie charts again

I think we should be able to grind every stat to 99. Regardless of position or height. Badges shouldn't be limited either. I mean, for crying out loud, 5-0 has clamps, and he's 6'10.

Ight, I had said this under one of Brotha Jones videos. - What if u had a storyline similar to 22, except add high school and overseas. Also add the Olympics for side quests. - depending on what you choose after high school if u meet certain requirements u can play for the USA team. Then be off onto whichever career path u choose, and based off that u get a certain overall. 70 for overseas, 75 for g league and 80 for college. - which ever one u choose u get certain perks to your game as well as certain bonuses and player connects. Like overseas is Luka, Embiid, Jokic and Giannis. G-League is Scoot and Jalen Green. NBA u get like Bron and Tatum or sum like that, and u when u hit a certain level, u can grab legends like Dirk, Pascal and MJ for each category respectively. And u can get the Jordan court or something again like 17. - for gameplay tho yk how they have tendencies? Based off how u play in game your attributes are affected that way and a mix of your average teammate grade will give u an overall rating plus badges based off how often u use them. And after year 2, it’ll give u a build name, it can vary from high school to 2nd year in the league. -for HS tho, u can get attribute maxed to like a 68 (crazy for HS) then use the idea above for later levels.

This why i wait to buy 2k. Might do black friday sale. Or just wait for gamepass... they make so much off micro transactions but want you to buy the game.

In myTeam, you can have 3 to 5 maxed out builds on the court at the same time. I don’t think MyCareer and MyTeam provide the same experience. You can also play Lebron James or any superstar in PlayNow online or All-star challenge.

idk about that , the my team thing sounds like a stretch because i play both and never once thought what you just said, using madden and ncaa as an example i play ncaa to build a franchise and my team in 2k to put a team together like a gm while park is purely different , as with madden

We don’t want pie charts we want the rec / park to look just like my career game home shoes n away shoes and different attire color in the rec besides blk n white a real locker room setting not just standing up stretching Instead of a rec uniforms have your favorite teams logo on the uniforms like in a old All-Star game you can still have the season colors, though just a rec logo on the shorts

The builder kinda doesn't make sense, they should allow us to create custom jumshots in there too, like in 23 test the badges at certain levels as well.

This would have been the perfect year to have a completely open builder. Instead of caps. Whatever you’re good at it continues to grow until it tops out at 99. For example, even if I cap my 3pt at 80 or 85.. if I’m consistently going 8/10 or something through let’s say 30 games. My 3pt should be able to increase. So on and so forth for at least one attribute spot in each category F,S,BH,D&R…

Im Down For Builds To Be Really More In Depth Example Shooting Instead Of Just Upgrading 3 Pointers You Upgrade Them For Areas 3 Pointer Left Corner 60 3 Pointer Left Wing 81 3 Pointer Top 89 3 Pointer Right Wing 75 3 Pointer Right Corner 75 Type Ish And If People Dont Want To Be That In Depth Give Them Pie Charts Or Builder Templates That Would Really Make Characters More Diverse Especially If You Can Give Your Characters Emotion Which Would Change The Way They React Such As You Can Make A Aggressive Slasher Who Attacks Like Ja Or A Maneuver Slasher Who Gets To The Lane Like Kyrie

The way you play should dictate your badges. Thats how you can make the games different. Say if i shoot middys there should be a number of them i need to make to get to bronze , silver, etc ... That would change the way people approach the game.

Why can’t it just be like 2 elite categories and 2 mediocre areas that you are simply able to improve but not reach an elite level may link up to pro or 75 depending how u makes your player Cause I’m tired of having to have a 25 somewhere when it could be 60-75 or something like that

Why is it 12k VC to go from 98 to 99 strength on a Center? And why does going to 99 potential on strength take up 5/99 attiribute potential by itself. Other examples exist.

With all due respect Demi, pie charts are one of the worst builders imo.. 2k18 & 19 had the best builder. It didn’t make anyone OP. You literally excelled in the archetypes you chose.. could it have used minor tweaking? Of course. But imo… Dual Archetypes, Free Form builder, 2k17 builder, 2k14 builder, pie charts, then inside, outside, balanced. This is just my opinion though..

I’m not gonna lie to you 2K23&24 have the same builder is just one is more restrictive than the other the only thing that changed about the builder is literally the badge system so technically for three years we had the same exact builder it just got more and more restrictive 21 next GEN had to do everything builder the same as 22 and 23 and now 24 The only thing that changed was literally the badge system and the gameplay a little bit so technically 2K 21 all the way to 2K 24 have basically been the same builder it just got more and more restrictive that’s why in my opinion they should just bring back pie charts but add custom pie charts to the game still have the same preset pie charts in the game but allow the player to have custom pie charts to fit their own place style why also bringing back the old badge system there’s nothing wrong going back to older games to take System that they introduced so at the end of the day they can focus more on the gameplay because if we’re being honest 2K gameplay have not been good since 2K20 in a huge amount of the community can agree with me on that not seeing everybody but the game should go back to being more fun all the stuff they added is cool but I just wanna have fun I don’t care about being A stage player or whatever I just wanna have fun on a 2K that’s why people miss the old 2K because they were able to have fun nowadays everybody only care about money 2K only cares about money we miss having fun we can’t have fun anymore bills cost over $100 to max out then on top of that they can Nerf my building anytime so I gotta make a new one spending even more money then when I wanna grind my bill it takes damn near 100 hours worth of gameplay and that’s if I’m a good player but if I’m a bad player it takes about 150 to 200 hr that’s very time consuming and it shows that 2K does not care about his player base it cares about money

A ol gen console can't afford a next gen. The my builder on next gen is alot more lenient on your builds than ol gen. Try being on 98 ovl and spread points like you do on next gen see how far you get. You wouldn't be able to have those builds you do on next gen on ol gen. 90 mid, 93 3pt, 90+ defense even finishing plz. The builder should be equal on both counsels at least
