Hakeem was on the Rockets throughout the entire decade, we need to stop acting like these teams were some juggernaut that MJ lucked out on avoiding. The 94 team was really good, but the 95’ team was a 6 seed that lucked out in playing an extremely inexperienced Magic team in the finals. Every single one of the Bulls teams that won a championship were better than both of those rockets teams.

Hot take: Not that this would have been considered, but if KD joined Cleveland instead of Golden State, Barry would like him.
@williamtoad8040
@williamtoad8040 Ай бұрын
I’m going to say this once and for all, what KD did would be the exact equivalent to LeBron leaving Cleveland after losing the 2009 ECF to the 59-23 Magic to join them right after they lost the Finals to the Lakers where Kobe finally proved he can win without Shaq. Then the Magic win three consecutive titles from 2010-12 before getting injured in 2013 then joining two top tier guards on the Brooklyn Nets. Imagine how much more fodder that would’ve given LeBron haters had he done that instead. They’d be calling him LeQuitter, LeCoward, etc.

Great video! Agree with most of this. My corrections below (using your voice): 1960's, Michael Jordan. He was born in 1963 and his mere presence on our Earth influenced Wilt and the rest of the players of that decade. 1970's, Michael Jordan. His early high school footage took social media by storm and it prompted that decade to get their best basketball in now before it's too late. 1980's, Michael Jordan. Magic and Bird colluded to make the most of their rivalry knowing Jordan was on his way to the NBA. 2000's, Michael Jordan. You know he played on the Wizards, right? 2010's, Michael Jordan. Lebron wanted to be just like Jorda..excuse me, the GOAT. He came up short though, and all the credit goes to Jordan. Just like copyright infringement laws, this too would hold up in court.

Great content. Comments about Jordan are crazy, because the 90’s has some of the greatest players of all time. Shaq, Tim, MJ, Hakeem, Magic (who won a MVP), Kobe, Barkley, Drexler, etc… like it’s ok to admit Jordan is the greatest. Talk about Lebron not winning a ring without creating his own teams, or Kareem benefiting from a weak era and playing alongside great players.

Pretty good list and I agree with most everything. There are 2 things I would change, the first is I would have Bill Russell as the player of the 60’s. Wilt has the stats, but if you read articles from the time period and listen to interviews with players from that period, most say Russell was superior. Secondly I personally would’ve put KG over LeBron for the 00’s. They each won 1 MVP, but KG had more points, rebounds, assists, blocks, steals, and also won a title in the decade. LeBron is unquestionably a better player than KG, but KG’s résumé in the 2000’s is exponentially better than LeBron’s.

While I completely agree with Barry, the only thing that irks me is his main argument for Lebron over Jordan being how weak the 90s were when we all saw how weak the East was during the 2010s. Obviously it’s not a clear cut answer and that’s why the debate will exist long after I’m dead, but his main argument seems to be doing the one thing he hates and that’s overlooking one person’s situation to prop up another.

I think I would’ve given Kawhi the spot in the 2010s over CP3. Two championships, two Finals MVPs, and one of the greatest perimeter defenders and playoffs performers of all time. CP3 does have consistency over him.

I find it funny that certain people will scream context for certain things and leave them off for others, such as how Bron never beat a superteam or dynasty same way MJ never did and Bron always had the better team when he won which MJ actually had the worse team in 98, just little things like this is annoying. Both are great and if you're gonna say shit like MJ didn't beat dynasties in the 80s say the same for Bron in the finals.

Wait, 90s era with Hakeem, drexler, Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Karl Malone, Tim Duncan, Shaq etc was not weak. By that logic, in 20 years time the new NBA fans are going to call lebron and his era weak. Talk about "context" without using one🤦🏾‍♂️ plus I see so much disrespect to the older eras. Lebron wouldn't have been lebron if bill Russell, Kareem, magic, bird and Jordan did not do what they did

Another thing too is that the NBA in the early 90's was high scoring, but the late 90's had a lot of dull games with dudes standing around aimlessly, and scoring decreased a lot.

Good video but the CP3 pick is a real head scratcher for me. I wouldnt have him top 10 for the decade, i get he had great regular seasons but they never found team success in olayoffs and individually he was never MVP while other guards were better during this stretch individually.
@williamlovas2414
@williamlovas2414 Жыл бұрын
If you watched CP3 play you’d know why he’s here, he never had post season success because his team’s were never very good, he made them good, and the one time he actually had a good team, he was one hamstring injury away from beating the warriors with KD in 2018, which probably would’ve given him a ring.
@Michael-vn2jj
@Michael-vn2jj Жыл бұрын
@@williamlovas2414 CP3 is the king of what ifs and excuses. His LAC teams were a top 5 team going into multiple seasons. He's been on some good teams, he was on an LAC team that everybody expected to go to a finals... CP3 hasn't been on terrible teams for most of his career. All time greats are expected to win when they are playing on stacked rosters. CP3 had some stacked rosters that only won in reg season.

As a Thunder fan, please make a 50min video about KD. I'll even give you additional things to think about.. -we had a powerful tornado around ~2011 that wrecked Blanchard/ Bridgebreek. Tornado skipped my house but threw the next a house a block down several miles. Talking apocalypse the day after with roads blocked by everything you fan think of. I met KD that day, he helped with the cleanup, as did many others. He was genuine then. -Met him again, as he used. To bike around Lake Hefner. He was a quiet, genuine dude early on. Met WB too who was... well, tells it how it is kind of genuine. Both were cool young, never met KD again but did have WB meet my daughter in like 2014/ 2015 where he ignored me and was super cool to her (natural Dad kinda vibe). KD walked by by didn't give a crap, almost seemed annoyed... sucked since I felt I kinda knew him. -in OKC we had a KD restaurant a few months before he left next to a Toby Keith restaurant. Like OVER THE TOP fandom/ self loathing that felt kinda cheesy, but hey I loved the man and felt there's no way he leaves as why make a shrine to yourself then duck out? He did though. Only stayed open for a few months before it got vandalized after he left then changed to a generic company without the KD stuff. Recommend looking into that because it's a weird piece to the pie.

We have to ignore the past greats to prop up the modern era's. How impressive is Jordan's chips when compared to Mikan and Russell. Shaq's dominance compared to Wilt's. LeBron's and Russ triple doubles to Oscar's. Curry's shooting compared to West or Maravich's. Lack of recorded stats,games and accolades make it easier also for modern player to seen like they have unique resumes. Also the efficiency would change if they played the modern game because they have modern training. Never got the knock
