I served in the Navy, still have friends in all the other branches... Love stories like these... Hoping all my military brothers and sisters stay safe so they can have moments like these...

Made me tear up so happy for the mother. I am a military mom and don't see me son but once every year to 1/12 years myself. That would be the most wonderful surprise to see your child in a special setting.

I'm an ice cream vendor at Bulls games and have worked many many games. I never saw a more touching moment in all the years I have worked their. I actually cried.

If anyone is wondering why a lieutenant is wearing the insignia of a captain, a USN lieutenant is equivalent in rank to a captain in the other three branches. A USN captain is equivalent in rank to a full colonel in the USA, USAF, or USMC.

Robert Hudson. Funny story about that: I knew an elderly woman who was having difficulty getting a prescription filled, or something to that effect, at a Naval Hospital. She went here, she went there, but no one would budge. She finally found an Army physician who was willing to help her. He got on the phone with the staff who was supposed to help her. "You tell them Captain Phillips said..." To which they replied, "Oh, right away, SIR!" And he turned to her with a grin. "See, works every time!!"
