NBA Draft Trade Rumor: Utah Jazz trading with the Detroit Pistons for Stephon Castle?

According to Jonathan Givony, the Utah Jazz are interested in trading with the Detroit Pistons to get to the number 5 pick in the NBA draft to potentially pick Stephon Castle. It would mean the Jazz need Reed Shepherd to fall to four for the San Antonio Spurs not to take him so the Jazz could have the opportunity, but this would be a big time get for the Jazz who need to be adding good, young talent that could help the roster improve.

If Castle is there at 5 I would trade all 3 picks for him. However we can get Ron Holland at 10 or Dalton Knecht or Cody Williams or Salaun. We can then trade up with 29 and 32 to get Topic, Dillingham at 19 or 20.

Yes- move up to 5 to get Castle for 10 and 29 picks Do whatever it takes to capture the Flagg. Too bad we can’t loan players for a season like European soccer. We could just loan out Laurie for a year so we bottom out and get a top 5 pick in a loaded draft. Don’t trade Laurie. 7 footers who are 50/40/90 guys don’t grow on trees. Keep Laurie, move picks to get Castle, and prepare to capture the Flagg

Castle's shooting is too worrisome . . . the big athletic wings are more preferable . . . salaun, williams, or holland. i'd rather take scheierman than overpay to trade up. although we could likely trade down a few spots to get him. if we want a guard, i'd prefer bub carrington at 10 anyways. stephon's shooting is really worrisome

I don’t think we need to trade Lauri to be a bottom team and qualify for Flagg. Look at the last half of the last season. We were awful. And Lauri was there for most of it. Keep him around and let the young guys get the majority of minutes, maybe rest Lauri on back to backs. I definitely want castle, we’ll see what it would cost.

no matter who the Jazz get, it will be the wrong one. I can just feel it. They will be one spot away from getting someone they want no matter where they are.
