Tiki taka isnt some unstoppable force lol. Look at bayern just decimating tiki taka strong teams like barca. Bale a flop? Dude won 3 ucls for the club in 3 years and won the game for madrid against liverpool in 2018. Flop? I dont think so

Messi's team is known for playing this style while Ronaldo's team was known for counter attacking football. That's what made the rivalry great. Pep vs mou, ronaldo vs messi, different playing styles too
