White mamba is right, NBA players have been playing the game Every day, all day, on top of that they perform specific excercises that help them to improve their game. So it's a fact that NBA players would destroy any regular guy who plays the game 2 or 3 days per week and is busy working as some Americans would say 9 to 5. However, I would like to see Scalabrine or some of the worst NBA players going 1 on 1 against some players that play in the leagues of Argentina, Brazil, or Venezuela (not to mention Europe which overall level is higher) I would bet that Scalabrine or some others NBA guys would lose in some cases.

I remember when I was in high school chris Paul showed up for a charity event and the the whole basketball team was there so we ran a 5 on 5. Paul was with the jv versus the varsity starters. (My school is known for its basketball program). First of all Paul isn't that tall but the IQ is out of this world. Completely smoked the varsity team. Effortlessly and he made the JV team do all the scoring. It was basically all assist and defense

After the antetokounmbros event in Athens me and my friend got to guard Giannis and Thanasis for a few possessions. I got Giannis. He just bumped me out of the way to my right , followed by a step through to the left and a casual dunk. When I attacked him I gave him a hesi (which he kinda bit) into a Harden step back creating a ton of separation. He still swatted that ball out of the air. I'm 195 cm 95 kg and felt like a f*cking child.

Well, it makes sense that NBA players are far better than the average Joes, playing basketball is literally what they do for a living, during the regular season sometimes they play 4 games in a week, they live to play basketball and they play basketball to live, after many years in this process they develop muscle memory to the point that their dribbling moves are practically automatic and they even know if a shot will go in right after taking it. Meanwhile people who aren’t NBA players, who work from 9 to 5, they don’t get paid to play basketball, they can only play when they got time for it.

The difference in basketball talent doesn't *look* like a lot when you watch it on TV, but when you see this kind of stuff, it's crazy. I worked at a college where one of our assistant basketball coaches was a 33-year-old who played professionally overseas. He would come play basketball at the rec center with a bunch of other Athletics employees on lunch, and he would come wearing 10 pound ankle weights and a 25 pound weighted vest "just to get a decent workout" and then he would just dominate all these "normal" people who all played high school or college basketball lol.

If "nobody" NBA players can make regular Joes look like children, what 'superstar' NBA stars will do will be just downright murder lol

Star players like Curry and others, just chilling and enjoying. While bench players like Michael Beasly, talking trash! See the difference? 🙈🙈🙈

It’s the strength speed and size that makes them so much better than average people, sure they have skill too but you can find a guy who can shoot or dribble really good but can’t hang with these guys. The difference is genetics obviously but also weightlifting people don’t realize how many squats lunges calf raises nba players do their whole life to get to that point of being elite athlete. Even guys like Steph and klay who aren’t freak athletes said that they wouldn’t be pros without the thousands of squats they have done to have the balance and strength to get open and make shots from everywhere. I always tell kids if you wanna be great at basketball the shooting and dribbling is the easy part the thing that separates you is the weights and taking care of yourself

The real difference between pros and "regular people" is mental. They have seen every move, every way, 1000 times. They know he tells and cues that reveal what you are going to do, before you do it. So not only are they better athletes and more skilled, they can literally see the future vs a regular player.

@@calamorta Some idiot military guy got into a fight with an mma fighter. Killed in one punch by the mma fighter. I've trained with some of those special force guys and they're no joke. So for a mma fighter to do that to a trained killer really sets a tone.
