@@alvingreenplate2664 Why race might be all that’s left as a reason is because everything else is checked off for her for the Olympics. 1) Rookies out of college have played before. 2) Her stats match Taurasi this season. 3) Experience not a problem because she’s played on the US team before. 4) It’s not because Caitlin is tired because most Olympic players played overseas. She doesn’t need to be a savior nor is she to blame for her skin color. It gets so old every time they can bring this in they do. Racism? They make up the majority of the WNBA and get paid to put a ball into a hoop. They aren't suffering from oppression. They live better than most humans on the planet, literally the top 1%! And is it racism that Caitlin Clark is popular? No. Caitlin Clark is that good. Larry Bird was popular too. Pistol Pete was popular too. She's not the first popular white basketball player but I guess she's the first popular basketball player in the WNBA, and in the WNBA her type is the minority. If anything it looks bad if a majority black league is bullying the white super star. It looks immature as hell. If Caitlin Clark is in the minority in the league, and I see people bullying her, that's no better than the racism we see in society where we see a majority bullying a minority.

@@tball7496That criticism of MJ was in vain. He never paid a price for his social silence anymore than O.J. Simpson did. Ironically people have shown contempt for King James wanting to be a part of the conversation. A White athlete shouldn't be held to a different standard than a Black athlete. If someone wants to take a stand like say, rapper Eminem did, I have nothing but gratitude for that. A person has to do what they feel passionately compelled to do, not what they are pressured to do. MJ cares about the brand and legacy of MJ and most White folks loved him for that and Black folks haven't stopped groveling brown-nosing over MJ, every step of the way. They never have one woman on these sports shows to defend her and everybody is trying to use this young lady, all sides and no one is standing up for her. Yes we know this league is also full of activists for various issues, what will happen if they decide not to stand for the flag or attempt some other activism, and Caitlin doesn't participate. The hatred by certain parts of this society esp the women in the WNBA will grow. She just wants to play ball and is not interested in any causes. She is facing more scrutiny than any other athlete in the country. MJ never faced this much, I remember he famously said "republicans buy sneakers too". it's not the game or the animosity of the players who will ultimate crush her spirits, it's all the BS from outside the game that like a cancer may impact her. It happened to Pete Maravich and he self-medicated that rookie year and called his rookie year pure hell. I hope she has a strong support system and people need to be advocating and defending her. That bright smile she had seems to be dimming! Something needs to change and it's not her. I wish they would just let her play ball!

As a black man, I can’t lie, we have become the most racist group of people in America as a whole. We became the exact thing we fought against. It’s so bad we judge our own people by complexion and are the only “group” of HUMANS that have requirements in order for someone to be considered black. WE HAVE TO CHANGE, at a point in time racism was our greatest advisory but now we are our own worst enemies. We kill each other over nothing, our homes have been broken, and we would rather be famous and rich than pursue careers that can actually make a difference in our communities. And please stop passing down trauma and calling it tradition.

She has more class in her pinky toe than the entire league, always humble, takes the assaults she receives by turning them into fuel to play even better, ensuring the people envious of her have nothing to say because her game proves them wrong. I am praying she never gets injured by the cheap shots she gets from these jelly bullies of hers and stays confident knowing she wouldn't have such hate unless she was something special. people are not using caitlins name for racism. theyre saying that the people that are hating on her are racists. and they are. so by asking her that question youre asking her to lie and say they arent racist. because it would cost her a lot to be honest and say that it really is a race issue

Very weak of Stephen A. to play the race card and bow down to the WNBA. His previous takes regarding Clark’s mistreatment were thoughtful. However, this was a desperate attempt to appease the black women that have been upset with his recent honesty. @8:00 mark he referenced racist areas in Texas, MLK and Rosa Parks. That’s clearly a contrived rant. The bottom line is that Caitlin Clark is well liked because she’s talented and conducts herself well. It has nothing to do with race. She’s just special.

How the f**k is Dijonai a racist for mocking Caitlin Clark for her flopping??? I don't understand this world!!! Yall need stop attacking these women whenever they make a little tease toward Caitlin, it's not that serious and it's gonna screw Caitlin's career up immediately because yall are trying to make her too soft by being overprotective of her!

The comment wasn't about Clark flopping. It wasn't about basketball at all! Ddin't you watch the segment? That would've explained it for you. And a better question is, "Why is Caitlin's Clark's name in Dijonai's mouth at all?

I honestly think this being blown out of proportion. I started following so many women’s basketball pages because of Clark and all the comments are usually attacking her because of a racial bias. MSM is saying she’s getting attention because she’s white and straight, I think she’s getting hate because of it. All her defenders have mostly been men, white , black, Asian , Hispanic because they are basketball fans and like how CC hoops. The media narrative has been trying to gaslight everyone because negativity sells to them. But CC, the Fever and their positivity has been winning irl.

You can’t keep expecting so much from young people still trying to find their way while dealing with a lot of obligations and responsibilities. People want Caitlin to speak up about stuff like this while she’s still trying to come into her own as a ball player and still has to worry about actually becoming a great pro basketball player. I don’t need or expect social commentary or activism from her.
